I'm saying that you're simply dismissing it with a statement that you're putting forth as pure fact.

You'd need to back up your statement that the gnostic gospel you referred to regarded all the scribes, not just the ones that lived in the time of Jesus.

I know that on occasion there have been specific school districts and maybe even whole state school boards in the U.S. that have tried to declare that pi=3. I don't know if this had anything to do with their interpretation of Biblical text or if irrational numbers juts hurt their heads too much, but it has happened. It doesn't tend to last that long, I don't think - probably just until the next round of elections for school board, but it does happen.
