www.dailykos.com...

Two young men in Jackson County Indiana said they were so freaked out when 'propositioned' by Aaron Hall on April 12th, that they proceeded to beat the 100 pound, 5'4 man for hours, using their fists, boots, dragging him down a staircase while his head slammed into each step, and then throwing him in a ditch and leaving. Aaron managed to crawl out of the ditch and out into a nearby field, where he died, alone and naked.

...

You see, the story is even stranger than it appears. Some contend that the young men made up the story about having been propositioned so as to use the 'gay panic defense,' in hopes of getting a more lenient sentence. Apparently the thinking was that exposure to homosexuality is so frightening that well... heck, anyone would go crazy and beat the hell out of a guy for hours, then toss him in a ditch to die.

now, i'm somone that follows the news very closely, normally i'll pick up the newspaper and cruise the internet (for hours sometimes) just to get my fix. but i this is the first time i heard about this story over 2 months after it happened.

so, where is the outrage?

i guess it would've been covered if he had been a 5'4" 100lbs pretty white girl...

Madnessinmysoul,

I disagree..once again..it is not sad...it is beyond sad ..into sick.

However I would also like to post something about non capitalistic news formats..they too can be just as sick and in the jerk off format. I dont trust them either. They both can be con jobs, lying and deceiving. History is replete with this knowlege and awareness.

It is just a matter of who would you like jerking you off in news formats...the capitalists or the non capitalists....they will both jerk you off on the news format and content. Pardon the crudity but the news formats deserve it from my corner of the world.

I agree with the premise of the posters here about the bulk of what passes for media attention and am insulted by most of it..including much of Fox. Its sick..almost beyond redeeming.

I get alot of my news and and info from this computer anymore and choose how and when I will digest it for my own reasons. I am often insulted by being jerked around by the bulk of television news formats no matter who is presenting the news. Same jerk off format on the radio bands as is on television. So many of these guys are like a xerox machine..watch one and you are watching 50 xerox copies of the same drivel stories.

Thanks for your post,
Orangetom

anyone who was even aquainted with the victim of a 'random' homicide should follow-up after sentencing by insisting on viewing the incarcerated in exactly that state...2+2+4!

so you must also be against considering premeditation when you're sentencing a criminal..
isn't the concept of a hate crime is just considering an additional level of premeditation?

Well if it is shown that premeditation was involved, then charge them with 1st degree murder. My point is did they plan on killing this person before or after he propositioned them? That would tend to rule out premeditation, if it wasn't beforehand. The concept of a hate crime is that certain special interest groups have been more succesful lobbiests, granting special status for themselves. I suppose you could charge a serial killer with hate crimes too, if all their victims were blonde, etc...

well, it seems that the hate crime would be premeditation as someone would have been more inclined to kill a person of a certain group

however, killing the guy here would require at least a small amount of premeditation.
advances aren't causing endangerment. this man was killed in cold blood.

The story doesn't say whether the victim was gay or not. But the graphic description of the murder leads me to believe it was a hate crime. The irony is that these young cute guys are going to be very popular in prison.
