What do u guys consider as the best machine gun out there today?

My personal favorites include:

FN M-3M HMG

MG-42 GPMG

M-240G GPMG

And the Ares Shrike (14" barrel)
LMG

What are ur personal favorites and why? Any class of MG: Squad Automatic Rilfe (ex: Steyr AUG HBAR), LMG, GPMG, and HMG.

BTW Fulcrum, does finland still use the Valmet KvKK 62?

I vote for the MG 34.

It's only real drawback was that it's rate of fire was so high you needed 2 extra guys just to hump all the ammo!

The MG-34 had a cyclic rate of 900 rds/min, while the MG-42 ran at 1200-1300 rds/min.

"MG-34 was an outstanding weapon, with wery fine finish and made to tight tolerances, but this become also its biggest drawback - being too expensive and too slow to manufacture, MG-34 was less than suitable for mass wartime production. It also was somewhat sensitive to dirt and fouling, a standard atrribute of the western front battles. But the most major advantage of the MG-34 was its versatility, and it set the trend for numerous latter designs."

Yes..

And its 7.62 KVKK 62..

And ive fired this weapon many times..

And i dont like it.

7.62 KVKK 62

KVKK and some ugly guy, high res pic!

KVKK and some ugly guy, high res pic!

Its not that its a bad weapon..

Actually its very good has high rate of fire (~1000 rounds per minute..) and virtually no recoil..

Its just that it needs much more care than AK type of weapons and its quite heavy even as it is KVKK (LMG..).

And personally, i didnt like its sights.

PK and PKM are however now replacing them.. or have done that by now..

And my favorites:

FN MAG and MG43/MG3..

PK series is also good, maybe better than either of these.. its just that it dont look as pretty.

Here in Lebanon, the army uses the FN MAG (with wood stock), or the PK (don't know if its an "M"). Ironically the Police in charge of protecting embassies and certain University presidents (they're american) are usually armed with the 7.62x39mm Valmet Rk.76P.

That is with fixed plastic stock right?

Also,

I have heard that RKs (RK stands for Rynnkk Kivri, and is in English word to word: Assault Rifle..) were exported to Lebanon..

I just never have seen any images of those..

Maybe you could help?

Well the police here arn't that friendly when it comes to embassy protection so i dont know if they'll like pics taken of them but i'll try.

In the mean time this kinda illustrates what i mean:

in this case the rifle butt belongs to a vintage M-16A1 (birdcage flash hider, manual assist on upper receiver).

Here are examples of under-cover cops manhandling a student during an anti-syrian protest.

not exactly our proudest moments. I somehow new this thread was gonna turn political (my fault though). So please the rest of u forward ur favorite MGs and tell us why.

How can you go wrong with a cyclic rate of 1100/1200 rounds per minute, and bullets the size of my thub. All this with one barrel. In any case this looks like the future of infantry support weapons.

M312 .50 (12.7mm)

and the M307 25mm
