Contingency plans are always better to have then NOT have... The question is will they be carried out? Or will it be another situation similiar to what happened when Katrina hit the Gulf-Coast...

I don't think this is anything new. There have always been contigency plans in case of a major disaster all but shutting down the government. All countries have such plans.

I think you are right Sensfan, there have always been plans in case of a major disaster. What I believe is interesting about this particular plan is not only that it has a presidential directive attached to it, but that it has been validated as being very "probable" by not only the NSA and Homeland security, but also the CIA. Basically what I believe we are dealing with here is simply a matter of time. Not only is this "probability" a frieghteningly likely possibility, but it is also a horrific scenario.

A CIA operative came public on 570 a.m radio here locally and said that this "decapitation" is not a matter of if, but when. Then again this person was a "former" operative suggesting that he is no longer in the loop of information. It is a little worrysome however that this is going to be the way we go down. As Osama has said before: America will fall because terrorists will strike from the "inside". Kinda makes you wonder if this is what was meant.

A better plan than when Katerina happened and the local government failed..........

If anyhting were to happen at a Major city (esp. DC, NY or HO) the chaos which would follow would be immense.

What i would do if i was in power and we were attacked massively. granted i was alive still. I would have my people verify the intel on who and what hit us, taking into account an inside job first, investigate all roads as quickly and accurately as possible. Then if ascertained who hit us, other than some fear mongering berka loving freaks chanting crap. I would precision retaliate not with nukes, but the host of secret weaponry like auditory projection and holograms, then lasers and earthquakes, leaving my enemies confused as I circle them with horrific sounds and sights, then waiting only until the peak of fear and awe is reached, i would strike them dead. somehow.

Actually if I was attacking the US, wiping out the Government is the last thing that I would want to do. Wipe out enough of them and we might end up with someone competant in charge, who isn't beholded to a political party. Leave the current Government alone and attack the citizens. The resulting panic combined with the political angling by the political parties would give the desired result in short order.

I am in complete agreement. I think you misunderstood. I actually think we should do more to prepare for this scenario. Rather than just have a written plan their should be a more pro-active approach. Kudos for being strong with your conviction, but I am also on the same page. I say: Let's get to it and get down to the business of preparing, instead of just acknowledging that this is an issue!
