The semi-morbid (but interesting) thread on When Is It OK To Kill A Gray? has sparked some interesting questions and theories, so I thought I would start another thread to explore some of these and get input thats more thread specific and NOT about throttling a small child-like creature from BEYOND.

A.) Of all the "alleged Photos or video" of the greys which do YOU think are GENUINE,if any.....

B.)Does technological superiority give you "the right" to subjugate and/or manipulate a being or animal for any purpose you deem necessary?

C.)Does the FACT of superior intellect suggest that concepts such as ETHICS or MORALITY are common universal ideals OR is it a purely HUMAN ideal and therefore has NO bearing on a being not from earth or should they be accountable for our CUSTOMS?

I want to encourage FREE THINKERS here... and EVERYONES opinion matters.

I will start off by answering these questions from my perspective....

A.) Of all the "alleged Photos or video" of the greys which do YOU think are GENUINE,if any.....

Only one photo do I believe is accurate. Call it a gut feeling...call it an obscure recollection.... but I believe this photo actually depicts a grey (there a supposedly several different species)

B.)Does technological superiority give you "the right" to subjugate and/or manipulate a being or animal for any purpose you deem necessary?

Well, humans do it everyday so why would it be wrong for a more advanced superior race of beings to do it to us. I personally follow a code of ethics which states that : It is the responsibility of the enlightened to conduct ones self in a fashion that is peaceful and non invasive, respectful and mindful of others wishes and or opinions whether they conflict with my own beliefs or not. So, were I the alien scientist exploring a new culture I personally would try my utmost to apply these principals while doing so as to cause no harm to the subject(s) of study.

When entering another country on earth, we are responsible to adhere to that countries customs and are therefore subject to their laws and judicial system and punishments therein. I surmise that this is applied galactically and followed or recognized by all structured and peaceful civilizations. (If any exist)

I'd like to adddress one of those issues, and that is the "right" of a superior civilization to subjugate/pick on/treat badly members of an inferior civilization. Whle it is quite obvious that we humans have done this over and over again in a sytematic manner, my feeling is that most of us here would say we DO NOT have this right. In other words, we do it, but we say we should not from an ethical perspective. Ideally, we should treat other races, including inferiors ones, with respect.

If you will accept for the moment Strieber's 'Communion' at face value, there is a scene in that book that is relevant. If you can't accept 'Communion,' then accept it as a fictional version of what the Greys in fact do to us. In that scene Strieber is sparring with the Greys. He says something to the effect that "You don't have the right to kidnap us like this." Their reply:

"We do have the right."

Strieber goes on to analyze how shocking this matter-of-fact reply was to him and how it shook the foundations of his belief system (Well, he always talks like that.) But from the perspective of what we like to say is an ethical way of living, it IS shocking. What this tells me is either a) There's something big about this issue that we do not understand, or b) The Greys are no more advanced from an ethical standpoint than we are.

Now, I'm sure we'll hear the usual anti-ethnocentric disclaimers about us not understandng them so how can we make a moral judgement, blah blah. I get that already. That's covered in (a) above, okay? In which case, don't judge ourselves on ethics either. Given that it's my body, in theory, that they want to experiment on, I'm not wanting to give up the feeing that they have no right to do it. And I think the entire issue puts them in a fairly bad light.
