It can't just be an example of good police work.
In and of itself it is a fantastic piece of police work. How-ever, we should expect to see politicians at the Federal level use the many instances of good police work that will take place this year...to justify...the need for more legislation...that will...enhance their power, while at the same time...chipping away at your civil liberties.
The days of the humble man are long gone, if they ever existed. People seize every opportunity to further their own agendas. And I just don't believe that all the politicians are reading from the same playbook. How such a conspiracy could survive from one administration to the next is beyond me.
Don't believe me? That's quite alright. Tune in to your favorite news and....wait for it...watch as the reporters ask, "what more can be done to stop things like this?" Then, listen to the political answer. "With greater empahsis on law enforcement and improved legislation, we can clamp down on these things but I'm not sure we can stop them all."
Politicians have been giving that same pat answer for as long as they have been politicians. What would you expect them to say: "Now that we've foiled this plot, we can dismantle the law enforcement agencies and revoke a ton of laws that we charged the perps with breaking".?
The thing with certain viewpoints on ATS is that they can never be wrong:
If the feds foil a plot, then it's just a propaganda tool to enslave us.
If a terror plot succeeds, then it was just a propaganda move to enslave us.
It's as predictable as the sunrise.
