This is pretty scary, all these plots trying to attack people on US soil. The may involved a former airport worker.
Press Confrence at 1:00 EST.

Update...according to MSNBC 3 or the 4 subjects are in custody.
Three people were arrested and one other was being sought Saturday in connection to a plan to set off explosives in a fuel line that feeds John F.
Kennedy International Airport and runs through residential neighborhoods, officials close to the investigation said.

I was just watching this on CNN. This could have been a very bad scene.
They just said, though, that the plot was not "technically feasible" and only in the "planning stage".
Every couple of weeks they seem to be foiling another plot of some sort.
It seems to me that if they are foiling so many terror schemes in the US, and yet none have succeeded lately in the US, that the anti-terror guys are
running at a 100% success rate.
This does not seem "technically feasible" to me, judging from the general lack of competence displayed by most government employees these days.
This, in turn, causes me to wonder. Are these actual plots they keep foiling, or is the government just making them up for the press. They show that
government is protecting us from the terrorists, while keeping the worm of fear alive in the public.
I certainly wouldn't put such a propaganda campaign outside the realm of possibility.
Just a thought.

Some reporter on Cnn keeps saying, “ it’s the most hurtful thing you can do to the US, hurting JFK.” Now, I know he was a former President
but, I so disagree with his statement. I do not believe it’s the most hurtful thing you can do to our country. What would be hurtful is hurting
Living innocent victims.

That seems like fear-mongering to me. Why would ruining an airport mean anything if it didnt cause huge fatalities. I could think of a million other
things that could hurt more than that.

That's ridiculous. Just because the airport is now named after JFK (it used to be called Idlewyld), destroying it would be the worst thing possible?
Just to name structures -- What about the Capitol building? The White House? The National Archives (containing the original Constitution, Bill of
Rights, and Declaration of Independence)? What about the Statue of Liberty?
edit:
Actually this wasn't CNN saying that, it is what the suspected terrorists said of attacking JFK.

cancelled flights and repairs.I also believe that there would have been signifigant causaulties, just not on the line of 9/11.And lets not forget the
main idea of terrorism is to instill fear in the general populace.

Djohnsto77,
If that’s true. The reporter should clarify himself more. It’s pathetic him repeating it over and over. None the less I do disagree with that
statement. I just don’t believe it’s the most hurtful thing you can do.

That's what they're saying on FOX. They say say the terrorists said it would be like killing JFK a second time.
Also, they were saying that they hoped it would kill a lot of people, not just in the airport, but in the surrounding Queens neighborhoods.

Well that shows how dumb the terrorist really is. LOL.
Anyways, I’m glad you cleared that for me. Cnn didn’t clarify that.

To be honest, my first thought when seeing this news was that this foil is such perfect timing for the upcoming New Hampshire debates, especially with
all the 9/11 drama from the last GOP debate.
I wonder why they decided to arrest the men right now, when they've been watching them since January 2006 (I think that's what I heard them say in
the news conference audio), and the plan was still aspirational, and described as "not feasible". I'm curious if anything significant changed or
developed in the last few days/weeks that made them choose now. But nonetheless it's great work done by law enforcement.

The whole story seems very bizarre. And law enforcement busted these guys when the plot never got past its planning stages. It looks like the thought
police to me.

So which is it: boogieman propaganda tactics, another foiled plot by W to become dictator for life, or maybe proof that there are some people out
there that truely hate America enough to try to do something destructive? Or is there something else that I am missing as motivation?
If it took 18 months of investigation it could be that they were aware of the group but the group had been brainstorming for ideas that they might be
able to pull off and get away. It could be that it took them 18 months to gather enough evidence that was solid enough to convict them of a terrorist
plot and not have them get off by a jury for not presenting enough hard evidence. We still have that presumed innocent in trials thing that bears the
burden of proof to the accusers and not the accused.

I am not going to sit here and deny, but there are people trying to do us harm. Like these terrorists, sure they exist but they are very much a
minority in the muslim community like the christian fundamentalist's. Sure muslims share the resentment of the west but not all of them are out to
get every american on this planet. You can compare the jihadist movement to extreme christians or catholics. If these chritisans or any other
religious extremist groups land was invaded and crapped on, they would put themselves in harms way and commit terrorism in a heart beat.
To religion death is negotiable. I mean more people have been killed in the name of GOD. No I don't think BUSHie is out to get us either. He's just
a puppet. I love how the media just jumps the gun and saying terrorism,
terrorism, terrorism.
