"TB Man's" father- in-law is U.S. government's top TB reseacher!

Topic started on 1-6-2007 @ 09:47 PM by Boatphone

This is very odd.

The case of the US man who flew across the Atlantic and Europe while infected with a dangerous form of tuberculosis took a bizarre twist today when it emerged his father-in-law is a specialist on the infection.

www.guardian.co.uk...

It seems very unlikely that a man could come down with this "super rare" TB bug and his father-in-law is the worlds leading expert. But there is NO conecction....

www.guardian.co.uk...

I can't fathom this!

It was also revealed that the man's father-in-law is Dr Robert Cooksey, a microbiologist at the US Centre for Disease Control in Atlanta, who works in the division of tuberculosis elimination and conducts laboratory research into the disease. But in a statement issued by the CDC, Dr Cooksey denies there is any link between his work and his son-in-law's infection.

no kidding Boatphone.......................sheesh.

I am going to venture a guess that this man was NOT very well liked by his father in law

This has been on the radio today and what a coincidence. One in which I am having a hard time in believing. It's just to radical!

Sounds to me like the guy had to be exposed to the strain either when in the daughters home or perhaps in future father-in-law's presence. I can't believe the government & media think the general public is stupid enough to buy the "unrelated coincidence" line. sheesh!!
