haven't really been following this thread much, partly because of the lack of good surface images available of Venus. But in new news, didn't the
spacecraft "Messenger" just recently do a fly-by past Venus? I'm a bit fuzzy on that information, but I seem to recall reading something about it,
anyway did it snap any images??!!
No it just shot laser beams at the planet... kinda a cosmic "drive by shooting"
practicing perhaps?
That's weird... I was sure I posted that the other day in this thread... I just checked... not there...
So here it is...
Venus Flyby
June 5, 2007: Picture this: A spaceship swoops in from the void, plunging toward a cloudy planet about the size of Earth. A laser beam lances out from
the ship; it probes the planet's clouds, striving to reach the hidden surface below. Meanwhile, back on the craft's home world, scientists perch on
the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens.
Sounds like science fiction? This is real, and it's happening today.

So now NASA has a new sport!!! They can add this to their previous "scientific research" that deliberately smashes multi million dollar probes into
objects( some containing many pounds of Plutonium), just to see what they can "stir up" in the dust! Now they are taking pot shots at the planets
with Laser Cannons!!!
I wonder if any of those "scientists" have ever considered the repercussions of dropping that much plutonium onto a planet in case there MIGHT be
any microbes around?
Oh wait seems they did! They were concerned about Galileo contaminating Europa... (they had considered smashing it through the ice) so they turned it
to crash on Jupiter instead
Here is what Enterprise Mission has on it
Nuking Jupiter
Fat man bomb 14 lbs of Plutonium
Galileo 50 lbs of Plutonium
Okay the "Cannon" part is an exagerration
To Rilence:
Its okay, no comment IS a comment... I can understand your reluctance to comment on the Mars image I posted... its a standard tactic for most skeptics
to ignore anything really interesting
