Now this is one cool device...LOL
Its called the Z Pinch Machine in New Mexico.
Its a huge parallel bank of capacitors that discharge in series with a voltage of 8million volts.

It created the hottest temperature ever recorded, hotter then the inside of the sun.

3 to 4 billion degrees

again Spin is critical to understand the goings on in this discharge.
Little vorticies are created by the magnetic field which is smoothed by the viscosity of the plasma and a conversion of magnetic energy to thermal energy is conducted in the plasma

I did'nt know it had the word 'pinch' in its name, I always thought it was just called
the Z Machine.

Pretty cool piece of technology though, it may actually just help us develop Hyper Space
technology, as it is the only machine on Earth capable of producing a powerful enough
E/M field to test Burkhard Heim's theories.

I see his theory has 6 dimensions....again pointing to mulitple dimensions and strings as being valid.
thanks.

Ps would not like to have one of those in your back yard to do high energy plasma weenie roasts.

Here is a pic of the Z Pinch Machine in discharge

Plasma science is so cool

Wooh! That's some serious discharge!

Man oh man, I play with alot of capacitors in some of my tests, but NOTHING compared to the scale and obvious discharge of this thing!

I would LOVE to visit that facility, if only to observe it discharge just once!

Seems like it would take a large power plant to even turn that thing on.

What exactly is the purpose of this?

It only takes the amount of power that 100 homes would consume in 2 minutes.

Various areas of research from materials science to plasma and fusion research.

That is one sweet machine! Any idea how large the area was that this temperature was achieved? I'm just trying to imagine how they did this without destroying nearby equipment. At a guess, they probably performed the experiment in a vacuum, since vacuum is the typical medium for plasma physics, plus a vacuum insulates against conduction and convection of heat. (although not radiation)

iori: I had never heard of Burkhard Heim. Very interesting man and work. I'll have to do some further digging into him and what he did.

My bad, my first picture I ever loaded here was too big
