One teeny-tiny problem with genetic enhancements of soldiers: we don't know where those genes are.

(Yes, I know this to be true. I have friends who work on the Human Genome Project. "Strength" and "good hearing" and the other things are not a single gene; they're multiple genes and we have no clue about what exactly is necessary for a project like that.)

Of course two thoughts come to mind.

1) Would he be refering to one of those happy little DHS Research Facilities located out that way?

and secondly,

2) Gene tampering been going on much longer then some folks think. But then again I would believe that to be assumed knowledge at this point.

Take a look at a number of the Agg Universities Research history for about the last 40 or so years.

Or then again, just go shopping down at the local grocery store.
