I realize that there were Deists as well as Christians, but they both shared the belief that our rights aren't granted by Government, but by God.

but they never included that in the governing document, so it doesn't matter.
The Deists just believed that God had a more hands off approach than what Christians believed.

yes... a lot more... as in flipping a lightswitch was all they believed.
