Janet Aircraft at Lackland AFB!

Topic started on 23-5-2007 @ 05:43 PM by J Rock

I was over by Lackland AFB (San Antonio, TX) this morning and noticed a Janet aircraft sitting on the flight line. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject, because as far as I knew they were only at Hill AFB, Plant 42 in Palmdale, CA and of course at McCarran in Vegas. Any Ideas?

They've been seen in many other places occasionally. No idea what they do, but I have read reports of them in several other places.

I was researching into a Janet crash last year (the research was last year, the crash was like 2004), and found them in Europe once or twice, and all over the United States. I assume that just like a regular airline they occasionally send them to various places to do different missions. Take a technical team somewhere, or haul a group of engineers around, whatever.

What part of Lackland did you see the plane at? was it one of the 727 passenger airliners? or was it one of their smaller aircraft? did you just see it coming in, was it taxing?, just sitting on the tarmac?
