*video* drummer knocks eye out with drum stick

Check this video out, this kid hits his eye with the drum stick, and his eyeball pops out... you can see him holding his eye in his hand. and he doesnt know what to do!!!!

At first i was like LOL but after i watched a few times i'm like maybe it did happen the way the camera work is shoddy like some parent filmed it needless to say WHAT THE HELL that's crazyyyyyy

I am a drummer and a medical professional but I do not want to watch that although I watched a huge abcess being expressed on the Pearl drummer web page....

I had to watch that a few times, just to be sure.
I don't think that was his eye. I think it was the head of his drum mallet coming off, and sticking into his upper cheek.
Watch it again, and watch the drum mallet, on your left. His right.

i watched it a few times also, but the mallet is still on the stick when his "eye" is hanging off. Plus, if you look at the reactions of the people around him, they look genuinely shocked!

No, it's not on the stick, it bounced from the drum, to his face.

There are two sticks of course..The head comes off his right hand mallet..When he realizes it, he put both sticks in one hand to grab hs face. Both mallets ended up in one hand, at the last note of the musical piece.
You can see the headless mallet, just before the end of the piece.

He DID have part of a drum mallet stuck in his face..So he was injured, but his eye didn't pop out and hang there like a tetherball. That was the mallet head, and probably part of it's wrapping..

ok, i did just notice the mallet was missing on the right drumstick... but im still gonna go with "his eye popped out" story, because its more fun.

I felt so bad for the kid, I had to make it so his eye didn't pop out.
Gotta say, It really freaked me out on the first couple of viewings..

Im not completely convinced its not his eye. Take a look at the video again, even though the mallet is mssing something is hanging from his face. And look closely at the 2 guys next to him, they are pretty damn scared and shocked at what they are looking at!

Wow, freaky! I had to watch that a few times. Now I'm going to need a few drinks to get to sleep. Being a drummer, that scared the hell out of me. However, you can clearly see the mallet in his right hand breaking on the last beat. It then appears to 'stick' to his face some how. Maybe someone with more medical experience can take a look at this. I don't think there is enough tissue connecting to the eye for it to hang out that far. Yes, the kids looked freaked out, but I think they would be a whole hell of a lot more freaked out if the dude's eyeball was hanging out. Also, I didn't find anything in the news about such an incident. Something like that would make a local paper or two, yes?

I'd say if it was really his eye, he handled it rather well.

Your eye wouldn't pop out like that with all that stuff attached. Watch Casino when they put that dude's head in a vise, that's how your eye pops out.

I agree with spacedoubt on the mallet head thingy.

Yup, that was his eye. Your eye is connected like that. It doesn't take much to make your eye pop out. Just some pressure in the right spot. It's called "globe luxation", one of the many forms, or stages of it. The head of the mallet popped off, it happens alot more than you might think, and hit him in a good spot, and boing. Being a drummer mysef, I'm glad that never happened to me at a gig. (Or any other time for that matter.) Here's some reading for you...eyeball stories
