So the gun culture is firmly rooted in the American psyche where might is right, human rights, innocent civilians and babies be damned. The very name of the operation to bomb Iraq, 'Shock and Awe'! shows this typical psyche at work. American forces launched approximately 1700 air sorties (504 using cruise missiles)!! The targets? Not all military or the industrial complex. Most were on the civil populations on the periphery of Baghdad, resulting in the killing and maiming of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.

All for what?? OIL! For the biggies like Halliburton and ExxonMobil, who were laughing all the way to the bank. Who's bothered about the depleted uranium ammo? Or better still, whats that?

This is just so tragically horrible, and hypocritical considering that the people that rush to war are usually self-proclaimed "men of God". How is this any less radical than 9-11? Hundreds of thousands of innocent people dead and yet some can still support this endeavor?

The fact that he can sleep at night for starting this horror show astounds me.

The damage done to DNA doesn't just kill the person effected it also kills their kids and their kids etc. You permanantly are damaging the human gene pool. Depleted Uranium should be banned. It is a silent killer of the innocent for generations to come.

Well i'm not looking at these pics..but i do have a question. Why does everyone get all soft and say things "oh i can only immagine the horrors if i was there and bla bla bla"...It strikes me as fake sympathy for a lot of reasons.

SAying "oh i feel their pain" is such a cop out. Why not go to iraq and see it for yourself? I don't know why everyone acts like it's their family getting killed there, and says they are so sorry for the victims..when a lot of these people probably voted to keep bush in office.

This is war people. buck up. People die people get mained people get scarred for life. No need for the overly sympathetic my-heart-bleeds-for-you, talk.

DU has been used long before Bush was even a candidate for presidency. Decades back. You expect the president to tell our troops not to use DU as weapons? Nor use our tanks because they have DU armor that protects our troops?

as already pointed out by others, those 'enemies' are human beings. the countless german lives lost in the second world war harbored huge numbers of innocent people. just because they were german did not mean they deserved to die.
this war is a reversal of roles. this time it's *US* invading *THEM*. and we justify it how? by branding every single person as evil, and gunning them all down with our heads held high and patriotic. well here's my middle finger, patriots. our governments are supposed to be the ones best suited to these powerful positions, but i'mstarting to think that douglas adams got it right when he wrote that the only man suited to a position of power is one who neither wants it or knows he has it.

I am a muslim born and raised in Iran. I am 17 now soon to be 18. I am not a sexist, conservative, closed-minded muslim. (yes I don't like homosexuals but that is a personal opinion). Neither is my brother like this, in fact neither are any of the muslims I know. Please don't mix up terrorist and the normal people who are trying to make a living in Iraq. You can't judge a baby's future on what the extremist are like! Normal muslims are not what you say they are. Extremist are but they are the few. You need to go and see Iraq or Iran or any other muslim country and see first hand what children there are like. I garantee you they are a lot better than children here in the UK or US. They don't have an easy life but they are better people.

I havnt been to Iran yet. I have been to Iraq and Afganistan. In Afghanistan even today if you convert from Islam to another religion you can be arrested and given the death penalty. The Afghanis as a whole to me were more tolerant than the Iraqis. I never once argued with any of them over my faith which is Judaism. They still treat women pretty bad though. Some Afghan children were good some were bad. It all depended on their family and community. The bad ones had a tendency to steal and mob you. In one village we went into the children mobbed us and the men stood around and did nothing. An old woman chased the kids off thankfully. As a whole though I respected the Afghanis much more than I do the Iraqis. They were honorable most of the time and followed a Pashtun code of hospitality.

The Iraqis, well the Kurds are good people. The farmers were decent people. I can say this children who were from families who raised sheep and goats were better. The children who came from urban areas and had nothing better to do than steal stuff and throw rocks were the bad ones.

In both countries though the children often beat the crap out of each other. The only places I have seen behavior like that in the states is in the ghettoes. They were incredibly mean to little girls and we would often protect or take up for the little girls being assaulted by boys. If we gave things to the girls the boys would often beat the girls and steal what we had given them.

This is just down right wrong, (...) this man. The world has gone to (...) and the U.S.A is part of the problem just adding fual to the fire. After seeing this unspeakable Anger brews inside of me. What if that crap happened here, imagine that but wait it is to the soldiers coming back home, I could have been one of those poor saps. Something other then whats happening now has to be done, this so called war has to stop. Its going to eventually kill us all.

The photos that you are referring to are just a glimpse of what would have actually happened and I find this a very sensational way of winning support by the hosts and agencies which do evry possible research and data gathering about this kind of phenomenon. I would say that an unbiased way of looking at this war is to actually look at the photos of terrorist victims through out the world and then compare the facts. Are you aware of the horror of Kashmiri Pandits' fate in Kashmir in the hands of Terrorists? Are you aware of the fact that women and children are lined up at shot dead even as we breath now? Are you aware of the fate of Serbians? Are you aware of what is happening in Africa? Are you aware of daily civilian casualities in the terror strikes across the globe?

With due respect, people like you and me can afford to sit in our homes and talk about humanitarian causes and the ill effect of wars like these but I think we are not looking at the facts in the right perspective. We cannot tell these things to the families of victims.

Agreed what is happening in Iraq is monstrous but why is it happening? Though there is no reasoning which can justify the ill fate of thousands of women and children but I strongly feel that it's the husbands,fathers and brothers of these women and children who have wrought these horrors unto their own families. When we are at war we are there to win it. We are not there to look at what's happening to civilians or to the military. I think it's not difficult to find gruesome photos of our terrorist victims and post them in a website and cry 'foul'.

Aryan Watch I am aware of attrocities going on in Iraq and other parts of the world. What I have a problem with is using tactics that are worse to deal with them.IMHO one must be above all that.If you use the same tactics as the terrorists themselves then you too are a terrorist.It's the pot calling the kettle black.I do believe Saddam may have been guilty of war crimes, but it does not justify bombing his entire country.I, like many others believe911 was an inside job, therefore no justification for a war on terror.I may not be full of statistics, or political or scientific facts, but I believe that is a good thing and makes me impartial. I do read all of the posts here in case anyone is wondering and thank you for all the links and information.However that being said I have not changed in my opinion that the war on terror is not satisfactorily justified, and no one has the right to judge others based on religious beliefs, or geographical location. After reading through all the anti-American and I hate my country(Batty) stuff,I feel America and UK as a country are really unfortunate to have people like you and me. Wake up guys,we are not in Iraq as priests. Don't decry your nation where united we stand. Decry war if you have to. Let's accept the fact - Iraqi's would have died fighting each other and due to their own designs and WE decided to save them. What is happening there is not uncommon in any war.
