The advocacy group/website MoveOn.org has been host to a contest called Bush In 30 Seconds, "an ad contest thats intended to bring new talent and new messages into the world of mainstream political advertising." Furthermore, they claim to be "looking for the ad that best explains what this President and his policies are really about -- in only 30 seconds." Well... things got ugly today as an ad comparing Bush to Hitler had to be removed. But ATSNN has the ad.

And here we have the problem with political extremism. Certainly there are valid reasons to consider how moments in history now, compare to similar moments 60 or more years ago, but shock and horror it seems, is too much even for the extreme left. After numerous complaints, MoveOn.org pulled the ad submission. Link to QuickTime Video Download the video and see for your self.

Here's a quote from the MoveOn.org site concerning the contest............:

"We're not going to post anything that would be inappropriate for television." - Moveon.org contest rules.

MoveOn.org, aka. 9-11 Peace.org, is a BS front for the American Communist Party. I hope they get their arses handed to them and to those Democrats found connected and recieving illegial funds from MoveOn.org and their possible breaking of FEC guidelines, laws, and regulations by accepting and then hiding their distribution of those funds to Democratic contenders!

SkepticOverlord mentioned:
..."political extremism"....
Sure it is...its actually extreme liberalism.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, an organization that has been hunting down Nazis for decades, said this concerning this MoveOn.org contest:

"This ad is not about Democrats or Republicans - it is about lies and a distortion of history...."

MoveOn.org is begging for an investigation.......

I liked the ad myself....

Remember these "extremists" aren't the ones in power.

I'd take extreme liberalism over extreme conservatism any day.

Fascists and anti-Fascists= two kinds of fascists.

Using comparisons to Hitler and/or Nazism/Nazis discredits the group, organization, or individual making the comparison far more than it discredits the 'object' of the comparison.

I agree... and this was the point of my reference to political extremism. One side (usually left) gets so caught up in their spew they loose sight of trying to communicate the message with a degree of credibility. -sigh- These past 4 years, politics have become more and more like religion.

SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER CRITICIZES MOVEON.ORG FOR POSTING AD COMPARING BUSH TO HITLER The Simon Wiesenthal Center sharply criticized MoveOn.org for accepting and posting an ad comparing President George Bush to Adolf Hitler. Politics and preparing for a presidential election is one thing, but comparing the Bush Administrations fight against Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein with the policies of Adolf Hitler is shameful and beyond the pale and has no place in the legitimate discourse of American politics, said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the Centers dean and founder. This ad is not about Democrats or Republicans - it is about lies and a distortion of history, he added. www.wiesenthal.com...

As a CENTRIST ( I REFUSE to be "SOLD" by EITHER party) I have to AGREE whole heartedly with those who lambasted this mockery of the American Way...

Additionally, as much as I HATE to admit it, I must also agree with SkepticOverlord (every time I do this I get a "Warning"(!) Go figure...)
that Politics in America is becoming more and more like Organized Religion...

I made a post on another thread earlier today that quite clearly expressed my views on BOTH of these "Mind Numbing" social clubs... IMHO the ONLY reason organized religion and political parties exist is to offer their LAMO membership somewhere to gather with like minded folk who need direction on how to live their lives.

I beleive the current "catch phrase" for folk of this ilk is "Sheeple"... Kinda says it all doesn't it?

On another issue, while related to this yet different, I will be posting a URL in the VERY NEAR FUTURE that will take you to a ONE PAGE, NON-INTERACTIVE statement of what I beleive we should be pondering this "election season"...

I ASSURE you it will ruffle some feathers on those whose heads are CLEARLY lost in the Rectum Fields of Yorik Nine and bring TEARS to the eyes of those who are NOT...

PEACE...

I agree and have held Rush Limbaugh in great disdain for a decade as credited with the rampant assertion that Hillary is Hitler or HITLERY. That in large part, along with the seeming willingness of MOST conservatives to coin all things liberal as Nazi (Feminazis) or Facist (being PC) or Socialist (balancing the budget!) has made for a very frustrated and outraged left, that has turned the tides on the likes of playground bullies like Limbaugh and his minions.

And I agree here too about extremism, and even that the left in particular loves to hear itself talk, elaborate, explain and in general
show off them fancy educations. Some liberal politicians love their $10 words so much, Bush thinks they're speaking in code!

But again, as for spewing...and the religion of politics, please remember the left doesn't have ANYONE that comes close to Limbaugh, Robertson and O'Reilly. If it weren't for conservatives constantly bringing it to my attention (as a moderate liberal) I never would have even heard of MoveOn.org.

Heck, I wouldn't even know LIBERAL was such a dirty word!!!

It's nice to know how low people will sink to win.

What they will do to be 'correct and in control.'

What they will do to make themselves feel secure.

Of course they always avoid the obvious and that is themselves.
