al qaeda was the CIA's front in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion . Al Qaeda was a vital part of the Mujahadeen which had the support and
endorsement of both American and British governments.
officially, al qaeda and the taliban are separate entities, but unofficially they work together. The Taliban is used more for deals and contracts, and
was the agency which was in negotiations with Halliburton for their exploitation of the oil pipelines within Afghanistan.
bottom line. al qaeda = CIA. no ifs ands or buts
