Iori this is perhaps the best Idea I have seen on the site for improving the overall posting quality yet. I can see where this is going to cause folks to strive to make higher quality posts overall, so they can attain a higher ranking. It may also be the truest indicator so far as to who really has earned the WATS each month.

Looks pretty cool at first glance. But I'll wait to see how all this plays out.

For the member profile area... this might be a neat idea since that page is about individual stats..

have a total list of how many times each star was voted for you.. example..

***** 178

I think it looks great. As with any change, there is that "breaking in" period, but if these are here to stay, we'll all adapt.

The stars are definitely off a bit from the click location on my screen, several times now I have clicked the third star and had the second one show up lit. The only other thing I can see is that it may be an average, so if someone already voted a 1 star on a post and I vote a 3 star it ends up being a 2 star post.

Seems to be a work-in-progress.

No one is really sure what they mean, or how to properly use them.

And I checked for the sake of doing so, profiles don't appear to have any new stats, or other star related data. (yet?)

Actually I thinks its because people gave you ones?

Not sure though, perhaps if you vote for your self it will go down... though that would disrupt the purity of the average.

It should be impossible for anyone to have a 5 star because these votes will be flying.. 1's and 5's most likely to be the biggest votes. 1's will most likely win though, which is sad.

I visit a lot of gaming sites, and they use a "star" system.

Here I thought ATS was on the cutting edge...>sigh<

The Major is particularly fond of oak leafs, but the Major does confess a propensity for being biased on the subject.

I'm sure some recruit will cry "fowl," but that's the nature of progress in this man's ATS.

Might be a good idea to give each member a point for each vote and flag, that should help get folks using these ranking systems religiously.
