I know for a fact that my cannabis does not come from overseas. It's easy to grow here in the states, it's easy to grow under the nose of the authorities, and it's better if it's fresh. I can see other drugs being linked to terrorism, but not cannabis. It's not practical.

This is another propaghanda attempt to scare us into giving up our unofficial right to our own bodies and what we put into them.

Instead of laying all the blame and responsibility on the citizens of various nations around the world, why not lay the blame on the governments that allow this? We change a lot when we went into Afghanistan, but we did not change the opium market. Why? Because it's probably the best cash crop they have, and a great boost to their economy. So it's okay for the government to allow the farmers in afghanistan to continue to grow it, even though it's illegal, but it's OUR fault that we buy it. Makes a world of sense to me.

Maybe the government should take responsibility once in awhile. If they have such a problem with drugs and if they think our drug use is funding terrorism (which is ridiculous), THEY should do something about it. Don't leave it up to us, we hardly even care about the war on terror. As long as it doesn't come to our front door, we couldn't care less.

Hey, here's something interesting. Identity theft accounts for nearly 6 billion dollars of theft from US citizens finances. Six Billion Dollars that is going out of this country to criminals around the world. Afghanistan, Spain, Sweden, Pakistan, Iran, etc. They order products with stolen credit cards, have them shipped to some idiot in the states who thinks he/she is in love with someone overseas who in turn ships them to the overseas location. This is a racket that has been going on for years, it's virtually impossible to regulate at this point. I would venture to guess a lot more funding for terrorism is because of this than drugs.

Alot of awesome points being made here

It really makes my blood boil, because Cannabis use should be a matter of choice, not law. I don't encourage people to use drugs, but i have to be honest and say that without Cannabis i would still be a blind moronic slave to the system. It DID help free my mind. I don't care what you hear, Cannabis is one of the best tools for awakening someone, because its impossible to overdose on, and provides just enough stimulus of the connection between your brain and the higher mind to make you realise/have a "ta-da" moment

The two reasons why Cannabis is illegal;

-Money. It threatens multi-billion dollar business/corporations, because hemp can be used to manufacture ALOT of things, and because it is a weed, it will grow just about anywhere!

-Control. They know it helps awaken people. They know if they made it legal more people would realise they are being scammed on a daily basis by their own leaders/governments. The same goes for Magic Mushrooms (even more so than cannabis).

"Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction." - Bob Marley

"Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold..." - Bob Marley

So maybe it should be legalized, and then honest people can profit from it. By the way pot is far less dangerous than say, alcohol for example.

I have just been reading Cannabis by Martin Booth and he writes about the Isreal secret service, Mossad, were buying hashish in Lebanon and selling it to Egyptian dealers near military bases who dealt with conscript soldiers. The aim was to weaken the Egyptian army. The operation (Operation Lahav) continued right through the Lebanese civil war and well after it ended in 1979, Isreal therefore being responsible for funding the combatants before the war began, prolonging and part financing the fighting at the same time. I hope this isn't to much off topic.

Good thing in California most of it except the mexican shwag is all home grown or grown by peaceful farmers in the middle of the redwood forests or up in vancouver, and you can't tell me canadian farmers are unwitingly paying terrorists.

Pot sales in the western united states are most likely not going to any terrorist organization. And also why would most drug kingpins want to help terrorists destabalize a system thats paying them so well in the first place, small short sighted monetary gain in exchange for the ruin of their drug empire? doesn't make too much sense.

Cannabis should be legalized. Its a plant. It causes less deaths than alcohol. In fact Ive never heard of someone dying from a Marijuana overdose. It should be sold and taxed. Making it legal would eliminate the criminal element and drastically drop the price.

Besides, our own government has been using the lucrative drug trade to finance its illegal arms sales, and private-wars for years.

The argument doesn't hold up.

The vast majority of Cannabis bought and sold in the US in grown domesticaly in some fassion, the rest, 25 %, comes in from either boarder.

Just because in a couple instances there is a transaction were some kilos of Hash are traded for Kilos of c4, doesn't mean there is a direct funding of everything going to terroism, its like person said before, when is my sour milk going to be thier fault too.

If governments are complaining about this, then they should just legalize it so it becomes an above-board trade like anything else.

I have no sympathy for governments complaining that drug money gets funneled into criminal organizations, since it is their own policies that create that situation.

Now that would be much, much to logical of a solution and then the government couldn't spend hours, days, months, years debating the issue.

It's almost as logical as 20/20 getting the list of clients from escort service and saying that their wasn't anything more to investigate on. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't find anything significant in more than 50 pounds of paper trail of names and phone numbers. Why not just let everyone decide?

Lots of awsome posts in this thread!

I gotta point out that a few people havnt realised that this is about the UK, and in particular hashish (the brown not the green). Most, if not all, hashish comes from Africa and Afghanistan, the major exporter being Morroco (north west Africa). So yeah, there will be links to all sorts of nefarious schemes, it would be daft not to think so, meaning that article is definitely up to something!

From the original article:

The joint secret service investigation finds that hashish is part of a 'complex financing network' serving the Algeria-based Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, affiliated since last year to al-Qaeda. The group claimed responsibility for two bombings in Algiers on 11 April that killed 30 people and left 200 injured.

can't speak about over seas but all the hash in LA is local produced and exceptionally good. But again not that I would ever know because the cannabis sativa/indica plant is illegal to posses, look at, exploit or be in the very presence of in the United States.

Let me just post a few random qoutes about Marijuana and then what they meant to say

"I tried marijuana once. I did not inhale." - William J. Clinton

- Yeah I smoked weed...and I didn't inhale because I was too busy sniffing a line of A1 coc aine off of the prostitutes breast next to me

"How can the social system be improved?! It's a crime to smoke marijuana, a plant, but poisoning millions of people through toxic wastes is business as usual." - Lynette Fromme

- Tobacco is wakko... smoke the green stuff

" If you substitute marijuana for tobacco and alcohol, you'll add eight to 24 years to your life. " - Jack Herer

- Giggidy...giggidy...goo

"I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?" - Willie Nelson

- I need a beer...my guitar...and a fatty blunt to my dome...I'm Willy Nelson Mo Fo!!!

Anywayz...I support the right to do anything you want as long as it doesn't hurt or directly impact anyone else who does not want to be exposed to what you are doing. LEGALIZE IT!!!

Cannabis Cash 'Funds Islamist Terrorism'

observer.guardian.co.uk

Cannabis smokers are unwittingly funding Islamist extremists linked to terror attacks in Spain, Morocco and Algeria, according to a joint investigation by the Spanish and French secret services. The finding will be seized on both by campaigners for a harsher clampdown on cannabis and by those who argue that legalisation is the only way to end a petty dealing trend that is dragging growing numbers of teenagers into crime.
The investigation by the Centro Nacional de Inteligencia and the Renseignements Generaux was launched after Spanish police found that the Islamists behind the March 2004 bombings in Madrid bought their explosives from former miners in return for blocks of hashish. The bombings claimed 191 lives.

(visit the link for the full news article)

all this article is is a propaganda piece to feed the American Public... Its all about Marijuana is Bad... Not because it hurts you, but because it helps the terrorist. It the next step in the continued process of making Marijuana out to be an Evil Substance.

I do not understand why the mods would be editing this forum for discussion of illegal activities, as this is Above Top Secret, and one of the Longest Running Conspiracies in American is the Demonization of the Sacred Herb Marijuana, Ganja, Grass, Herb, WEED, Mary Jane; to Many Religions. (not to mention a Viable nausea/appetite stimulate Treatment for the extremely ill) It is ludicrous that our society has swallowed so much of the propaganda our government has feed us on this one topic (which I think is a strong representation of how our government tries to morally control the general public; even when there said action is not truly detrimental to anyone.

Coven Out

Edit to Add:
Also Tennessee (the state I reside in) has a cash crop that it is not allowed to tax. Marijuana. If the government allowed the legalization of Marijuana it would be Tennessee's Number One Cash Crop Overnight.
I doubt the Ganja smoked in this state comes from any terrorists, except the militia redneck kind.

I think we need to focus on the newslink's claim, that islamic terrorists is drawing ordinary people into their vicious schemes by cannabis, rather than the US market of it. Let's just say, among the drugs it's wrongfully classified, it's a marginal one, without any real interests for big, especially covert players.

On page one, XIII suggest that this fishy news is brought up to help Gordon Brown win the election. It certainly is suspicious that terrorists should be going around bartering instead of using cash.

Like Nobusuke Tagomi suggests.

In a few years, anyone caught with anything over an 1/8th of Cannabis will be jailed for Terrorism if these rotting people get their way.

I'm afraid it might be the true agende of this 'news'.

If you need any stimulation over alchohol, they want you to turn to CIA controlled substances such as heroin and cocain (crack).

That's the evil conspiracy in this.

The reason the police do not like legalization is that unlike alcohol, they cannot test you on the spot for how high you are. If someone made a PBT for pot the law enforcement community would not care as much.

Not entirely true:

The Victorian Parliament recently gave motorists something to chew on. In December 2003 it passed legislation empowering police to randomly test drivers for the presence of the active component of cannabis (tetrahydrocannabinol or THC) and methamphetamines (also known as speed, ice and crystal meth). Drivers’ saliva will be tested using an absorbent collector. To collect saliva drivers will be asked to touch their tongues to the collector, place it in their mouths or chew on it. Anyone found guilty of driving with these illicit drugs in their bodies faces fines of up to $1200 and a possible cancellation of their driver’s licence.

Source

There's still the question of 'legal limits' and how that relates to drug induced impairment (ie the legal blood alcohol level for driving here is 0.05, this means you can have a couple of drinks before you are over the legal limit to drive).

But the fact remains that such a test does exist. Hopefully this is a step towards legalisation - but I tend to doubt it.

Lemme just say real quick, I have not read everyones post. Just wanted to get my opinion on this subject while this weed is in me. :-)

I'll start off by saying that the sale of marijuana does fund many organizations. Sometimes terrorist organization, there is no denying that. The American media wants you to think that the weed sold in the U.S. benefits those terrorist in the middle east. That is simply not true.

The reality is most of the buds, sMokEd in the states come from our little pal in the south MEXICO. People that smoke in the south west, know these herbs very well by the name: Shawg, or Dirt-weed (a.k.a mexi-weed).

Lots of weed also comes from canada... those are the better buds :-). Not to mention lots of pot grown in the U.S. is hydroponic (home grown).

Here are a couple of interesting facts you might not know about weed:

In:

2737 BC: Cannabis referred to as a "superior" herb in the world's first medical text, or pharmacopoeia, Shen Nung's Pen Ts'ao, in China

2737 BC!!!!

100 AD : Roman surgeon Dioscorides names the plant cannabis sativa and describes various medicinal uses. Pliny reported of industrial uses and wrote a manual on farming hemp.

500 AD : First botanical drawing of hemp in Constantinopolitanus

1150 AD : Moslems use hemp to start Europe's first paper mill. Most of the paper is made from hemp for the next 750 years, including Bibles.

1554 AD : The Spanish grow hemp in Peru.

1563 AD : English Queen Elizabeth I decrees that land owners with more than 60 acres must grow hemp or be fined 5 pounds.

IMO around this time Royalty in Britain starts getting blazed!! lol

1564 AD : King Philip of Spain orders hemp grown throughout his empire from modern Arhentina to Oregon.

1600 AD : Dutch achieve the "Golden Age" through hemp commerce. Explorers find "wilde hempe" in North America.

1776 AD : Declaration of Independence drafted on hemp paper.

so to sum up, I believe our mother, "motha earth" created this great plant for us to enjoy. Why it is considered illegal now a days is beyond me... someone has to be making money out of it? think about it.. im sure there is a conspiracy behind it as with everything else..

P.S. This is my first post, I ran into ATS a couple weeks ago, and Im hooked! lol

oh almost forgot here is link info: www.ccguide.org.uk...

Great post Clandestino, welcome to ATS, great points you make.

If you don't know this site, www.illuminati-news.com... -- check it out.

It tells the REAL TRUE story how and why hemp was outlawed, as well as the ignorance that made it possible.

Blame it on Dupont, the yellow press (Hearst) and the paper pulp industry -- and the incredible ignorance of the American Medical Association, who in 1937 testified to the House Committee in favour of passing the Prohibitive Marihuana Tax Law, not knowing it in fact was the medical herb, revered since Hippocrates, known for its hundreds application, they testified against.

edit to add welcome.
