Ok, I did a little. This is from the first document posted. The first set of text is identical and taken from the newspaper article rense duplicates here - www.rense.com...

From that point, this is what I have. Proper nouns like placenames and people's names are the hardest to decipher, anyone who can fix them let me know..

If anyone can find matches anywhere for this online, let me know, too, and I'll stop, otherwise I'll continue decoding.. The rows of XXXXX are places where a word/name has been blacked out.

TWO DESCRIPTIONS CHECK.

Rankin's description of the mysterious aerial objects agrees with that of Kenneth Arnold, Boise, Idaho, business man, who first reported them over the State of Washington, except that Arnold clocked them at an estimated 1200 miles an hour.
Other reports came Wednesday from Astoria, Jack, Hayes, patient in St. Mary's hospital there, said he saw two of the discs Monday flying north-west at a rapid speed and that they vanished behind the hills.
Mrs. Earl Roade, Fort Stevens, said she saw a disc traveling north over Forst Stevens Tuesday noon, and that other observers saw the same object.
The army at Fort Stevens and the coast guard at nearby Point Adams did not see the discs.
The report of a Contralia?, Wash. man Wednesday coincided in matter? time with the original report made by Arnold. Sidney B Gallagher of Comralia? said he saw nine aluminium-hued objects flying north at 3.p.m June 14? He was working 11 miles southwest of Kineral?, Wash, at the time.

Washington I realized that the articles that I saw were probably the same thing. I was still reluctant to mention this to anyone thinking that they would probably say that I was crazy. After some time I mentioned the incident to the XXXXXXX the "Oregordian", a Portland, Oregon newspaper. At this time I was in Portland for the remainder of the summer. The results of the conversation with the XXXXXX of the paper is put forth in the accompanying newspaper article.

I fully realize that this is a broad statement in view of the fact that there has been so much publicity (word crossed out by typewriter xes) put forth in various newspapers of the country. I am of sound mind in every respect and I am firmly convinced that the articles a saw are actually some sort of flying machines although I cannot say from where they came or to where they were going. I say what I have said with no idea of publicity or personal gain.

(Signature, blacked out)

I agree that the documents are very interesting to read, but I think it's important to correct your introductory comment.

It isn't correct to say "First it was France, then England. Now the FBI takes the initiative ...".

Surprising as it may be to many Americans, the US was actually in the lead in releasing UFO documents. A considerable quantity of documents were released by various U.S. government agencies in the 1970s/1980s.

The FBI documents have been on its website for several years, and were in fact released to the public in the 1970s.

Those FBI documents were briefly discussed in Stanton Friedman's 1979 documentary "UFOs ARE Real!". Several of the documents were published by George Fawcett and Barry Greenwood in their book “Clear Intent” in 1984.

The FBI documents have been discussed in numerous UFO books since the 1970s. Particularly noteworthy are the following two books which focus on these documents, the latter of which can be bought easily and quite cheaply second hand - both are very interesting:
(1) Bruce Maccabee's book “UFO FBI Connection” (2000).
(2) Nick Redfern's book “The FBI Files” (1998) published as a Simon & Schuster softcover edition and also in a Pocket Books paperback edition.

It's a shame that the main stream media didn't read this thread from May 2007 (or any of the books I mentioned in it) before writing the latest round (April 2011) of completely misleading articles about the "new" release of FBI documents...

If any of those reporters looked at the books I mentioned (or many other UFO books and websites), they could have seen research into the actual stories behind many of these documents.

All the best,

Isaac

this mass load of information is actually pretty strange. i spent a good deal of time just scrolling down document after document, and it all adds up in terms of legitimacy - at least to me. you can definitely find a lot of truths in the lies presented here - the arbitrary parts of these articles are pretty easy to point out for the most part.

i didn't go through all of them, and the ones i went through were mainly from 1945-1950. the same concepts a lot of these agents use in their teletype summaries are in the same fashion of the way we "understand" ufo phenomena today. for example, one document went into detail about how these beings get here, what their intentions are, and the fact that they're "intradimensional." go through it, and really read each document two times over - there's a LOT of misinformation and "code" they send back and forth between each other, but some are quite honest and open about their transmitted message.

anyway, just within the VERY first part are 69 pages of material. the most interesting i've found so far in this first section is the article on the 22nd page from San Diego, California, July 8th, 1947. whoever is addressing this letter already speaks of ufos AFTER the fact, already concerned with how to behave around alien crafts, and how to address them personally.

another article worthy of notice can be found just a couple of pages away, from pages 27-28 that took place on August 6th 1947 in Portland. THIS article is exceedingly peculiar, because both agents who were working on the case somehow end up being "killed" by the end of the summary! not only that, but they also talk pretty explicitly about "washing out" the reports of this sighting in oregon "since they are definitely not of AAF origin." AAF, obviously enough, stands for the army air force. there's a lot of "white noise" articles in here guys, but that's the point.

if you guys are lookin for disclosure, the fbi has answered your call with these documents - but they're not gonna make it easy. i'll be postin more notable finds here as i work through 'em, as i know we all lead busy lives
