The way you tap the VOLTAGE field is by making a reverse tesla coil.
Using 4 or 8 high voltage diodes from a microwave, make a bridge rectifier, one AC lead to the "collector plate/array", the other to a long spike
in the ground. Then one DC lead to one side of a many turn small gauge coil (dunno how many turns, maybe 100-500). Then, in series with that is a
small spark gap and then to the other DC lead, NOT to ground. Then maybe 20 turns of nomal AC cord wraped around the primary and then attached to a
400V 1amp bridge rectifier. You want the spark gap to buzz at 60Hz.
you will probably get less then 100watts of some DC voltage, I'm betting closer to 10 watts. The higher it is, the more voltage you get, the larger
the collecters area, the more current.
