A Marine squad leader who led an attack that killed 24 Iraqi civilians shot five men as they stood with their hands up and told comrades to lie about it, a Marine sergeant testified Wednesday.

Sgt. Sanick P. Dela Cruz said that in the moments after a roadside bomb hit a Humvee in his convoy Nov. 19, 2005, killing a comrade, he saw five men standing by a white car with their hands interlocked behind their heads. The squad leader, Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, then fired about six to eight rounds at the men, Dela Cruz testified.

More and more stories of these kind of Incidents are coming out lately. But as we can see from a related thread, talking about War Strain, which leads U.S. troops into approving torture and killings and total disrespect towards Iraqi population. Well this story is one of those too; apparently squad leader was just too shaken (not stirred) after a bomb went off, that he started shooting UNARMED civilians, stadning still and with their hands up. Why? Maybe because they looked like Terrorists, since they were dressed that Muslim Way - who knows. But that was only the start of the massacre: After the five men died, a fire team led by Wuterich cleared two houses with grenades and gunfire in an effort to find insurgents. The dead included women, children and the elderly. Of course the Marines involved have said their response was a legitimate action because they were under attack. Under attack by WHO? By kids and grandpa's?

If true, these are the kinds of people that incite hatred towards America. That man should be classed as a terrorist subversive and hauled off to Guantanamo. This man and others like him are the scum that puts all the rest of the servicemen and women lives in jeopardy. Reprisal attacks for their violence is almost guaranteed.

Sad to hear this, I guess they go weaco from the war, just like in vietnam ,maybe decent people before they went to war or maybe not, I hear gang members are joining the rankings now of us army, since fewer and fewer people join the army now days because of the war in iraq and because alot of people feel it's not a noble cause then they take about any one who offers to sign up.

The report, Gang Activity in the U.S. Armed Forces Increasing, dated January 12, states that members of nearly every major street gang have been identified on both domestic and international military installations. Criminals, gansters, drug dealers, now in the us army, and bush wants democracy in iraq for them it's fun, go to iraq shoot some people to have some fun earn some money and then spend it on prostitutes, and if they die it's okay, they don't really got alot to live for.
Smart americans don't usualy join the army, they do something else usualy they earn a honest buck and work hard,make a career and get maried, they live their life and become parents and then gand parents, just like all of us or most of us, that is for you to understand that not all americans are the same, just the ones joining the army
Maybe there are positive examples in the US army but I don't think there are many.

So are you saying that only "Dumb" Americans join the Army?

I do not think so.

I think Army mostly gets those, which have limited choices in their life; they do not have a lot of money to go to college, or they do not know what to do in their life at all, they are confused and without any real ambitions. And they are the perfect tharget for Army recruiters, which always find a weak spot in those individuals, which have no clear future in front of them.

But WAR is HELL - and anybody who joins this kind of conflict, shall have to bear consequences later in his or hers life. And War makes Beasts out of Men. I have seen that happend close to where I live some 15 years ago...

Exactly people that do not know what to do with their life, or people that need money, people that are not too bright, most americans are against the war, bush aproval rate is under 29% and from that 29% some simply say that they don't know and are undecided, who do you think it's going to join?
Gang members, drug dealers, retards that want to shoot guns and want action no matter what, weacos, people that feel the need to impose on others, very few join up for the cause because they think it's right and that they feel the need to help out, or change the image a bit, if those were the majoraty it would be a different thing over there in iraq.
The US army will take about any one, they come to you on the street trying to trick you in to signing even telling a lie, saying they won't send you to iraq.
Polls don't lie, few people aprove of the war in iraq from united states, so with out any options they just recruit any one,they give them guns and then they send their buts in iraq after a fast round of training.
Bush will do anything to keep the war going, cause he is retarded and insists on trashing united states until he is succesful.
He trashed the economy, he trashed the name of united states, he only needs a little bit more of time to spill total disgust all over the world, after that united states in unrecoverble.
