The biggest box office weekend ever, millions and millions and millions of dollars, and they knew it would be, but it sucks and no I'm not sorry

Well I hope you are, Spidey 1 & 2 are great movies and I have high expectations for this one.

The whole, 'lets have a ton of villians'. seems a bit weird though.

i havnt seen it but i hear its good but not the best of the three, venom only gets 30 min screen time, that realy sucks

Y'all will only be disapointed if you go in with preconceptions and expecting a masterpeice and when it don't turn out like you've heard or thought it would you'll all be peeved just go and enjoy it as a movie i was annoyed with things they changed etc. etc. as well but at the end of the day it's just a movie and it is good in alot of parts it's just well your average emo kid is going to love it a hell of alot more than you may.

I thought the movie sucked at first, but then I came to the realization that it wasn't the movie as a whole, but the ending that sucked.

Take the ending off and end the movie about five minutes earlier and it would have been better

Secret Titan I agree with that. The end sucked. But I still stand by the whole film sucking, it was, and a lot of movies are getting this way, CGI...CGI...CGI...CGI... With a smattering of lines writen by an agrophobic toad.

I will how ever, watch it again when it is availible on DVD (and I'm in China so that should be tomorrow!!) and adjust my opinion where necessary.

Did anyone even understand why the Sandman even turned into the sandman???? It was out of no where. Nothing got explained whatsoever! Very disappointing!!!

I have never seen a superHERO cry so much before.


BTW - The french restaurant guy was the best part of the movie.

It was an awsome movie.. Loved it! And that's my opinion.. It was pretty suspenseful.. The ending? It was cool, didn't think they could have made it better.. I mean, you try directing amovie.. Trust me, it's hard, and i've made movies before... And no, not porno movies, horror movies..

It didn't suck. I wasn't the greatest Spiderman in the history of mankind, but hey what can you say. I was still really cool. I like the original way I remember Venom infecting Spidey though. I remember an anime when I was a kid where spidey saved the Space Shuttle from crashing and that's how he got infected. That would have made a better movie by adding that.

By the way you need to back up you statements. What didn't you like about it? Rami did a great job they should just line up comic's for him to do until he dies.

I wonder where we go from here. To Amazing Spiderman where he gets those god like powers that eventually give him the power to destroy venom for good, or what.

PS The ending did kind of sux. But the movie as a whole was good.

PS2 The ending was better than the ending the way X-Men3 went. If you want to talk about a disappointing movie talk about that one.

Oh no! How dare a Spiderman movie have a Plot and have subtle tones to it! I was expecting a guy wrestling in tights, you know, like WWE wrestling where the storylines have holes so alrge Ron Jeremy could get his you know what through!

Anyways, great movie. Also, the anime was a cartoon made by Stan Lee and aired on Fox Networks at 3pm Mon-Fri. I loved watching it. And I agree that was cool how they introduced Venom.

Also, the ending was a cliff hanger, Venom of course isn't dead. This ended the Goblin Arc and begins the Symbiote Arc.

And Sandman, how did you miss how he became the Sandman? Too busy making out with your mom or something and missed it? I made sure to go with a friend to make sure I wouldn't miss anything.

And again with the ending, they had to kill the Goblin and make a clifff hanger ending. Remember the sample of Venom that Dr. Conners has right????

Guessing by this answer, you can't be older than 16 or 17.

What I meant was the movie made no attempt to explain how he got there and why it happened. I am talking in a very general way because I dont want to ruin it for anybody. Did you not find it completely random how the sandman did turn into the sandman? Where did that machine come from? It seemed as if the directors and writers didn't know how to develop the idea and said "oh wait...I know...we will just have him run straight into a molecular dissintegration machine out of no-where". IF thats how he turned into the sandman in the comic, then what a peice of crap story. At least there was some plot behind Harry and his transformation into a villian/friend.

Running from the cops, Flint climbs a fence, runs, falls into a pit. The machine is doing some experiment. Flint can't escape and the machine turns on doing whatever it does. Flint, being in the machine, is affected, and becomes the Sandman.

Is that so hard to get? Again, next time pay attention. He wasn't just running for no reason like you say he was running from the cops who were after him because he broke out of jail.

So again, next time pay attention before you hate a movie because you missed something beause you were doing something else while the movie played.

Sandman in the comics became the Sandman because he was hiding in the sand during a nuclear testing.

I saw it last night. I'll give it a 6 out of 10.

Movie was about 30 minutes too long. After 1 hour and 45 minutes I couldn't wait for it to end.

I'm still in two minds as to what to think about this film. Overall it was majorly hyped which annoys me about films so you never know what to think about them. Firstly i really did enjoy the actions scenes in the film ,nicely done, however, the story left a bit to the imagination. I think the main problem with the film was the fact that they tried too hard, there were too many characters so harddly any character development was seen and it was like they needed the whole thing between spiderman and the green goblin to push the film along. Also the 20min slot where Peter decided to dance around all over the place did not fit in at all. Anyway, it might seem that i hate this film but that is far from the case, i did enjoy it but it should have been a lot better than it turned out to be.

LMFAO wow it's a good popcorn action movie but subtle tones and no plotholes?? you must have seen a different version to everyone else:

Harry and Peter just become A'ok after building it up for two movies sureeeee and oh let's conveintly kill him off now.

Eddie Brock is one minute moaning like an emo over Gwen the next he's joking about when shes about to become street soup.

A meteor just conveintly happens to land near Peter.

The whole oh my god Sandman and Venom team up was lame as hell why didn't Sandman just take him out one on one spidey was always struggling in the fight and Sandman could of pwned Venom so they introduce the stupidity plot device of Venom will go after his family....pleaseeeee...how lame. Especially after all that Sandman gives up anyway..... :bnghd::bnghd:..I mean really what was the overall point then....

BTW Eddie Brock got owned in that explosion you can see his skeleton so the only plot device they'll be using is the symboite sample picks some emo bullied or some other hollywood cliche kid type and becomes Carnage which is going to be dumb as hell seeing Carnage is a badass mo*******ker that swears and rips people to shreds in broad daylight hmmmm yes because you'll be seeing plenty of that in a PG or 12 rated movie?? I think not.

Then the Prof is going to be the Lizard woopedy doo everyone get's the plot of Spiderman 2 rehased were one of Peter's professor idols becomes a villain because he has lost something and in this case it'll be over an arm =

The whole MJ and Pete dynamic is getting tiresome dither this dither that.

Dude it's cool that you love the movie and anything but i'm sorry to say the Spiderman Series is nothing but a cashcow for Sony and in this respect it's loses out sometimes to being better story wise and being a better movie.

If you don't believe me look up on google about Sam Raimi not wanting to even have Venom in this movie because even the Director knew it would make the story suck but he was forced to put him in by the companies.

It's still one of the coolest action movies out at the moment though i've seen it twice so peace

Harry nearly kills SM, SM nearly kills Harry, how many more times do you want to them to nearly kill each other? Or will you then complain "They just almost kill each other again and again this is getting boring!"

MJ and Peter, sorry that you expected WWE storylines of Kane being a demon and Undertaker being a zombie who both love some skank and fight each other in a steel cage match. Maybe Raimi will get John Cena to play Spiderman and The Rock to play Rhino just so we can have some crappy actors doing nothing more then grunts for dialogue.

Anyways, watch the movie next time you see it instead of whatever you were doing the first time. My first time went with a friend so I wouldn't be distracted. Tonight going with my g/f so I will probably miss as much as you did.

I havnt seen it yet. All the bad reviews I have read are clear enough for me not to waste my money and wait for it to come on dvd. That is one thing I dont get everyone reads the bad reviews about this movie but still go watch it at the cinema wich adds to the box office and helps them break records and then they will make more junk.

I know this might have been directed to someone else, but I couldn't help jump in with my own opinion.

I didn't have issues with the actual character of venom or how he appeared on earth for that matter. The thing that made the story weak is that there was no pretext or explanation to/of venom. Imagine someone watched the movie who had never heard of spiderman. What would their reaction be? It would be "what the hell is that black thing that just fell out of no where?" "Where did it come from and what the hell is it?"

Why even suggest that? Why not just follow the comic book story?

I am sure they could have taken 15mins of crap out (a suggestion would be Dunst singing) and replaced it with some character development. Whats more important: her crappy singing or explaining where venom came from?

I actually lost count of the number of times this movie "jumped the shark" so to speak. It was over the top in all the wrong places. What was up with all the villains? I'm surprised Raimi didnt throw Lex Luthor into the pot :bnghd:

What I hated the most about it was in Spiderman 1 they set the premise for this huge rivalry between Peter Parker and Harry Osbourn. In Spiderman 2 it sizzled to a flame. I was really hoping that this movie was going to focus on that chemistry between Peter and Harry. Then Spiderman 3. Harry becomes this super-villain and starts kicking @ss (awesome). Then WTF?? They teamed up at the end?

sorry but that was the lamest movie ending ever. Could have been great but wasnt. :shk:

Firstly:

I would of personally fleshed it out via MJ's ex boyfriend seeing he was an ASTRONAUT and all plus if they were really stuck for ideas they could of made him Venom as he would of had better reasons to become Venom in SP3 .. than Topher Graces potrayal of Eddie Brock and that's another thing Topher Grace did the best he could and he's an amazing actor it wasn't even his fault it was the forced writing and forced characters that made it suck if they had held it together they could of done something like this:

Flesh Gwen and Eddie out more so you actually care why he turns into Venom not like i said earlier total unconvincing writing where he is like 'omg is that gwen, heh she said she had a modelling gig..btw i'm dating her' with a smile on his face, taking photos of the girl he 'shared a coffee' with yet later on he's furious after he see's Peter with her and then goes 'you stole my girl' it's like hmmmm tedious and unbelievable.


Wow you got caught handing in fake work etc. on purpose trying to get someones job and your surprised!!!..He made it clear he didn't like Parker at the start so when he's get fired is he really going to be that surprised. But that really aint at fault here that was probably the best part of Eddie in the whole movie.

Gwen...Really what was the point after all that build up.. we have a five minute dance scene and after that we never see her again..she was just a two dollar ho plot device. LOL What a waste of two characters that they could of had in this movie fleshed them out and then bring them back and Venom as the badguy in Spiderman 4. Instead they just created more dead ends.

The whole church scene could of happened and the symboite hides in the church and Eddie could of found out at the end and then blantent cliffhanger for a number 4. Seeing there going ahead and trying to make three more movies anyway.

Sandman was WTF pwning Spiderman dude the only thing that stopped him was the 'handy' water pipe near by and errr guess what he comes back anyway..Now just to recap how lame this movie had started to become by then the dude learned how to use his powers in like what ten minutes tops in yet it takes him...three on screen days go by lmao it turns day,night,day,night day and then he suddenly and conviently reappears on the third night :shk: and then decides to team up with Venom for no reason.

'HMMMMM let's Kill Spiderman' errr why? I thought you needed to go rob some banks for money for your daughter and you've learned that you can come back from water now so the same trick won't work again why all of a sudden decide to team up with some randomer that apparently knows about your daughter LMFAO another gaping plot hole Spiderman didn't even know about his daughter till the end of the film so how does Venom suddenly know.

^Seriously that's like somebody you never met or heard of before coming up to you one day and saying hai i know your mom or dad and tells you there name and then asking if you wanna go kill some dude and you'd be like ok sure'

Erm i would like it to be abit more believable say how about just base this movie on Harry and Peter and Sandman stories instead of having the butler conveintly coming out with the biggest peice of 'HOLY SH**' information that could of affected Harry's world...Right after he's had hmmmmm half his face blown off..so he suddenly decides to come save Peter...Whadda co-indicene...How convenient that he suddenly doesn't hear his dad's voice in his head while that's all going on even though they focused two movies on it.

What was boring sir was the fact it was another Hollywood copout when they could of made this movie and Harry and Peter thing actually so much better especially after focusing or should i say wasting so much of the movie focusing on it anyway just to reach a dead end.

Don't even go there MJ and Peter relationship lmao if as soon as a little bit of trouble comes along she runs off to Harry's and then kisses him and then does exacatly what he says so what if she got threatned Peters Mo*******king Spiderman if you love just tell him whats going down i mean for goodness sake she ran out on her own wedding in Spiderman 2.

Last point:

What the hell is with the convenient way when your getting bored of the swings and roundabouts of the normal story they roll out the other parts of the plot and then try to unbore you with some rockmusic track and action scene...Example the symboite hmmm like a week or something after they found it...For goodness sake it was in his bedroom the whole time...it could of jumped onto MJ on the bike when they found it..etc.etc. It could of jumped him while he was sleeping anytime but nooooo wait till the story starts sucking before they introduce it...Same as Sandman coming back from the water...Same as Harry having his accident and then suddenly he remembers it all. As Evolution Evil said they try to pull out all these Rabbits from a hat trying to amaze you and hope you don't get bored when really all they do is make it worse.

Anyway i still love the film it's just i aint looking at it with rosy tainted glasses i see the faults and still manage to enjoy it even though it does have alot of faults.
