Test for babies sex 6 weeks post conception

A test has gone on sale in the UK that can accurately predict the sex of an unborn baby six weeks after conception.

In a multicultural society like the UK, this has great potential for increasing the number of abortions for cultural reasons, as several common cultures and religions value children of one sex above the other.

Even by the most conservative estimates, sex-selective abortion in India has accounted for the termination of 10 million female foetuses over the past 20 years.

very worring. This will cause a lot of unnecessary abortions in the developed world.

The very real problem will be when the price comes down or an Asian company starts offering the same service at a much lower cost and let's be honest there not to hot on patents and copy right issues.

This could quite seriously screw up the natural balance.

I have to say that I'm Pro Choice.

This choice has just been completely compromised.

As much as I'm pro-choice and such, I have to say this test, and any test
that tels you anything about your baby, except serious genetic flaws or
inherited diseases should be completely banned and made illegal with a
heave price-tag for breaking the law.

This will only allow another brick to be laid for designer babies, which in
my opinion is one of the worst things that can/could ever come about,
and should not be allowed.

This test has just been banned in Australia for the same concerns.
