Bush administration pulls back on surveillance agreement

Senior U.S. administration officials have told the U.S. Congress that they could not promise that the Bush administration would fulfill its January pledge to continue to seek warrants from a secret court for a domestic wiretapping program.

Rather, they argued that the president had the constitutional authority to decide for himself whether to conduct surveillance without warrants.

Just another notch in the belt of the American people to know that their President is a pathological liar. The warrantless wiretapping that President Bush authorizes brings about a large outcry from the American people for it's unconstitutionality.

A federal judge ruled the Presidents warrantless wiretapping unconstitutional Aug 17, 2006, but Bush want to continue anyway. What's wrong with this picture?

As shown in this articles, Secret Court Issued 2,176 Warrants in 2006, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act works just fine. Why would the President need to overstep his Constitutional limits to intrude on the American populous?

Personally, I feel the President needs to be held accountable. Enough is enough.
