Personally, I believe Blu-ray has already won.

Sony played it smart by building Blu-ray into the PS3. They literally have an installed base of millions of Blu-ray players thanks to Sony's brilliant marketing.

Also, if you watch TV, pay attention to the commercials for new DVD releases, they always say "Now on DVD and Blu-ray Disc," they never mention HD-DVD.

So what do you folks think? Who will win the next-generation format war?

When they say dvd, they say it in a genral statement. Every BestBuy I got to I see all the new release movies in HD, so i'm not sure. If an xbox 360 can outbeat some blue-ray video games, i'm sure it will be a close call. My opinion, sony is over, Microsoft always had it, that's why they were confident enough to release the console months before the ps3, and I honestly think the Wii is alot more fun than the ps3.. Sony is a has been and never will be, again.

For the average consumer it really won't matter.

The big chain stores like Wally World will carry a combo player at a cheep price, and we'll be able to buy any format we want.

Believe it or not, most of the people on the planet don't own a PS3........

I say Blu-Ray since the HD-DVD code was just recently cracked and posted on the internet.

That's pretty much a nail in the coffin besides the very poor sales of HD-DVD.
