ATS.com System Time

Is the time set wrong? My control panel shows the GMT time and it's not right. Should I adjust my GMT settings (falsely) in an attempt to show correct times for posts/replies? Or will the time get set correctly?

I was thinking of posting about this too. It is 8.15 pm uk time at the time of this post. What region do we have to use to synchronise with the board ?

The server was built and is hosted in Texas... U.S. Central Time. The time displayed at the upper left is a calculation to GMT from the server time.

Would it be possible to have each ATS/BTS user tweak an option in the control panel so that it would display the time in their local time zone?

Or would this cause a problem?

I'm too lazy to convert time zones and all of that.

ATS is 5 hours and 4 mins. ahead of my PC time (which is tuned to atomic time). I was wondering if it's just possible to have independent displays for each user.

lol maybe you can make that a new ATS Store feature? So that the clock on ATS shows the users time zone. If that is possible, it would be a cool feature

My ATS clock shows 10:11 PM..im in California, its 2:18 PM here.. = /

Yes. You can change your time offset in your control panel. That's always been available.

Like I had stated for fellow Englanders, simply offset the time using the option in the Control Panel.

For people based in the UK, to set the clock, select GMT +6:00.

I was just in the control panel looking at the time offset feature, when i noticed it says "GMT is currently 4:32PM". I looked at the ATS header and it said "GMT: 2-1-04 @ 9:32PM. While it is 5:36PM here in NY.

I'm TOTALLY confused and was wondering if someone could explain this to me.[/font]

Well... the time offset form is one of the worst pieces of XMB code I've found and have been to lazy to get into it and fix it. so... you do the math

Doing math is one thing.

Recognising that it is impossible for anyone in the first six time zones to actually display the correct time on the correct day for ATS posts is another.

Testing - Ok, the system time is correct in the control panel (GMT time)... will this reply reflect that?

Nope, should have been 10:55PM (GMT is GMT: 1-4-2004 @ 03:55 AM)

Set to +6 hours - current time on system is GMT: 1-4-2004 @ 03:57 AM

Ok... Now set at +1 which should be correct for EST (but intuitively f'd up)

Current System Time is: GMT: 1-4-2004 @ 04:02 AM


EST, set to +1
CST, set to GMT
MST, set to -1
PST, set to -2

This of course is wrong as far as GMT settings go, but it will display the correct time for your locale.
