The Arctic ice caps are melting at a rate faster than the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicted.

This entails that the polar caps might not be able to produce summer ice as early as 2020, experts predicted 2050 before this happened. This new revelation is startling and is being assessed.

The lack of ice during summer will increase global warming by a huge margin. The effects of not having summer ice are great, the Earth would not be able to cool off as readily as it does now.
