Russia sees moon plot in Nasa plans

www.telegraph.co.uk

The claim comes amid suspicion in Moscow that the United States is seeking to deny Russia access to an isotope in abundance under the moon's surface that many believe could replace fossil fuels and even end the threat of global warming.

If John Lear's moon pictures are real, and the mining "anomalies" do exist, are they doing it for this "helium-3" the Russians, Germans, Indians and even the Chinese are after? If there was a large mining operation already being conducted on the moon, wouldn't the intelligence of these countries already know?

I found this surprising. I did not know humanity would be able to do this at the point of evolution we are currently in.

Energia says it will start "industrial scale delivery" of helium-3, transported by cargo space ships via the International Space Station, no later than 2020. Gazprom, the state-owned energy giant directly controlled by the Kremlin, is said to be strongly supportive of the project.

Do i get the feeling that helium3 could become the subsitute for petrol? free energy is real, and all this sounds like to me is just a more futuristic/slighty more advanced way of keeping the status quo.

I say **** them! If all of this is true, then they have a) known about it for a long time b) lied to the people of the world c) what else have they been hiding from us d) what makes us think this would be as far as withholding information goes

We've already damaged earth enough, and now we need to go mining on another planet..

Either way you slice it, its going to be another way to fleece the taxpayers to pay for something a corporation will get its grubby hands on and sell back to us at 10x what it costs on top of what we already shelled out.

Sorry to be pedantic but the moon is just that, a moon and not a planet.

Yeah, I saw that too. But think about it. Planets must be next. As our resources diminish on earth, and alternate forms of energy are being discovered but only available on other planets or moons, we have no choice, as of now, to mine these satellites. It just gets me that they probably will tax everyone heavily, like pieman wrote, because it "costs so much" to produce this type of energy.

Doesn't matter what it is, the fact that we intend to exploit it is all that counts. There is no need to do this, it is another inefficient process. There are other ways to get energy alot easier and in infinite amounts.. the governments know this, and have done for many decades.

shrunkensimon,

I don't think the "government" would release any of this technology any time soon. If there is a profit to be made, I believe they will do there best to secure this profit, and to secure a monopoly. As this fictional reality goes on, we will have to exploit moons and planets for their resources.

Interesting topic, I wonder who actually has ownership of the moon?

ANd if it is no particular country, then it should be a free for all, whoever gets there, owns a portion of the land?

Will there be stajes like the gold diggin' days of old?

Either way, we the measly populus will never get our grubby hands on the raw technology, it just seem,s like government L.L.P of each country has sole ownership, and even that might be eventually based an interstellar scrap for free territory or owned territory.

I thought there was a need to ensure that there is no militarization of space, which will probably happen, if so many of the L.L.P's want control and operational bases.

Why can't we just share in the glory of the good, rather than take in the name of greed?

I believe we are so far advanced in our technology, and what information is leaked, is done so because the nation did not get the benefits bi-lateral agreements they hoped for. In doing so, we are given soundbites about what is really going on.

I wonder if any aliens are mining in the moon, or is it just mankind? They at least must know what exists there, and what will soon take place if pother nations fight for their share of the booty?

Hydrocarbons will run out eventually, and the US is not going to allow Russia and China and India to get their hands on the next big things. Europe will no doubt be their buddy in this considering the US has accepted some help from the Europeans.

I think Nasa doesn't want to bring in the Russians because the already have the funds and technology, there is no reason to bring in a 2nd partner when u don't need one. It's like giving someone a free ride and sharing technology secrets.

The moon seems like a dead rock. Its not like its resources could replenish themselves, so for how long could they go stripping the place down? Maybe it will end up like that H.G. Wells movie in 2002 "The Time Machine" where we will see the moon broken into pieces.

I have read that the US is the world leader in ETI contacts, so it would make sense to hold all the cards!

Why should anyone give away the advantage that would mean co-operation, and loss of superiority, and possibly compromise.

But this will only lead to animosity, and when the losing country's technology is sufficiently capable of challenging the US, then all hell will break loose on the conquered territory.

I envisage a world where fierce battles will take place in the space around earth between governments, but on earth, these same governments will work together, as they are at the moment.

I mean, who is to stop Russia, or India or China from entering space and mining resources? Europe and the US? I doubt that greatly

As history has painfully shown, No-one can sit on any technology for too long.

I was looking around trying to find info on weather messin with the moon was a good idea or not, when i came by this nice little tidbit.

www.cbc.ca...

apparently the US and Russia had plans back in the 50's to blow up the moon, for what ever reason, they sound dumb. Knowing that was enough to answer the question that i was really searching for.

"Do they care about the Moon and what the Moon means to the earth?"

now i know they obviously dont.

Blowing up the moon would probably be impossible and if it was possible and was done it would drastically change the Earth's rotational axis which would almost make the planet uninhabitable.

Helium 3 is the mineral that they're out for. It is one of the best fuels to use in a fusion reactor. The U.S., China, and the E.U. are in a joint venture of constructing the world's largest fusion reaction named ITER. As far as the public knows, a stable fusion reaction has not been achieved yet. It currently takes more power to create a fusion reaction than the reaction itself produces, but progress is being made.

Oh could you imagine the delivery fee that would accompany the shipments. Im with the guy who made the water engine. What happened to him anyway?

No one owns the Moon, and in fact no country can technically claim the
moon, as it violates the U.N Outer Space treaty signed by all nations in
the mid 20th century.

Mind you I doubt the treaty will hold in the future, but as it stands no
country can legally claim any part of the Moon.

Leave the frickin moon alone! is what i say theres more than enough energy here on earth to supply the masses, which is free, pollution free and abundant..but because of greedy humans we are not shown or have access to them fully...BUT..

here are some

Orbo
www.steorn.com...
These guys are taking this technology directly to the public bypassing the governments/big corporations and getting the masses to support them because this energy belongs to us all, everybody and it's free!!.

ZPE - Zero Point Energy
en.wikipedia.org...
www.calphysics.org...
www.zpenergy.com...

Orgone
educate-yourself.org...
www.orgonite.info...
www.orgonise-africa.net...

Imagine a world where we no longer need electricity from the money hungry power company and no longer need petrol from the greedy price hiking oil corps, no longer need batteries, where we have a free energy an infinite free energy that can do all these things, and best of all be POLLUTION FREE!...We would have a harmonious society less poverty, less disease, less death, more happiness, more meaning, more love!.

No one should claim stake to any moon or planet it wasn't theres they didn't create it just LEAVE THE OTHER PLANETS AND MOONS ALONE!!

They've been strip-mining the moon since the secret trips to the moon began. These materials are processed and utiltized to power other types of spacecrafts including those that have taken us to Mars. Just look at the moon pictures and you will see for yourself. Mining equipment, buildings, arches, bridges, towers, etc. It's all there. Good luck and godspeed.
