how to quote a members post

there are 2 ways to do this.

1.

You can click Quote on the persons post that you would like to post,

Example,

that will open up the post box and will have the quote in place,

2nd way,

If you just want to copy a bit of what someone says rather than the whole post,

1, you copy and they have said,
2, click on reply to open your post box.

Then

click on the Quote icon,

a little box will then appear, paste what you want in that, click ok then it will format it in the post for you,

how to post an article from a
newspaper

right we call this the External source,

Hence the EX tab in the posting box,

We use this to quote from a news link, or any outside this site articles,

OK you copy the content you want to share with ATS from another place,

click the EX tab, which opens up a box,

paste what you want to share in that, and again it will format it for you

then just link the site in the post also,

Awesome, Asala

I appreciate the step by step instructions, it is a pretty fail proof method of helping.

I will definitely put this in my favorites for reference.

Thanks for that Asala, I had problems with posting the quote, and my response in the same quote box.

I also got around it by pressing quote, isolating the point, then posting the reply, then pressing quote a secind time, then adding my comments!

With the external videos, from you¿ube, do I copy everything after the = sign? Iwasn't sure how to do that so keep it up!

Example:

On the YouTube video screen, look for the URL.

  • Copy/paste the URL

  • Then remove everything in front of (and including the) "v="

    Like this:

    PwzO4OoIW7o

  • Then add yvid-tags.

    Like this:

    [yvid]PwzO4OoIW7o[/yvid]

    ...to produce this result:

    YouTube Link

This is a big help! I've been clicking on the quote button within posts just to see how everyone else is doing stuff, then backing out.

    Flag from me, great info!
