Ocelot: District Attorneys are ALWAYS charging people that they have little or no evidence on and many are found not guiloty at trials because of insufficient evidence...its a myth that they dont charge people unless they have evidence..Many DA's are political animals looking to move up the ladder into bigger politics and they often do it by appearing tough on crime or by having high conviction rates...Just look at al the people being released from prisons right now because of DNA evidence proving their innocence...the system is broken and corrupt. The DA's have tremendous power and can charge anyone with anything at anytime and hope that a jury convicts them..if not then they try someone else..I do not know if Jackson is guilty or not...its a terrible crime if true...but the newws said that this same kid said earlier in the year that Jackson had done nothing to him. And celebrities often will settle a suit by paying rather than having their names dragged through the mud even if they are not guilty...its just not in their best interests to get enmeshed in a long trial that may go against them for one reason or another. Many times large corporations make settlements to resolve an issue and never admit fault..just getting the issue out of the way can save them resources. So your suppositions are really not correct. Its like the old adage about the police not arresting someone unless they were guilty...now we know that cops set people up...frame them..plant evidence..perjure themselves under oath,etc. all the time sothe fact that a cop or DA charges someone in NO WAY means that they are guilty..our system insures that we are presumed INNOCENT unless and until PROVEN guilty because the accusers CANNOT be trusted to be fair and insure that justice is done. If one examines all the coverups, malicious prosecutions,phony and doctored evidence and blatant corruption it becomes obvious that the government and its agents cannot be trusted and therefore must be viewed with caution. If Jackson is indeed guilty then I say hang him..any child molester should be shot for such an offense. But if he is the victim of an extortion attempt then he deserves an apology from all who judged him falsely. Its a terrible accusation to make if not true and can ruin a life and reputation just by the accusation regardless of guilt. I say dont rush to judgement.
