It was a few days ago i realized my school was tracking the top most used quote "uneducational" unquote websites.
Myspace, youtube, orkut, MSN, ETC.
It wont be long untill they find out about this website so with the help of friends and a little paranoia we moved the ATS community completely "underground"
The rebellion has begun

You could use a proxy website to access here still surely?? The old skool way i used to get round my school's block thing was to hyperlink the website in Microsoft Word i'm not sure if that work's these day's though.

The principal couldnt be more clueless its the computer teacher or "dictator" thats taking our liberty away

He can monitor all the current websites being visited
P.A.T.S.U.C caught a glimpse of it before during class

Ugh...

I hate it when schools do that. I'm lucky that as far as I know my school doesn't use blocks.

Well actually they do but it seems nonexistent now...

Or else it doesn't work.

Oh well, hope you get lucky and they don't block ATS.

My school has a bunch of websites blocked, and unless proxys are blocked, I think you should use them, or be like me, bring a laptop in, figure out how to gain admin control and there you go, shouldnt be to hard if its a school, at least thats my experience.

Even if they do block it there are certain intervals on a few weeks where everything is unblocked from Myspace to youtube but its really short lived i should start making a schedule

I heard that if you install httptunnel on your thumbdrive at home, you can run the program at school from your thumbdrive.

That how you bypass blocks. That's just the word around school. I've never tried it, so I don't know for sure if it is true.

Just an idea!

I never would use ATS at a school library. I tried using gameFAQS and another site on the school's computer but the school's mainframe blocked me from the site and even hacked into my computer and logged me out of my account on gameFAQS and then some women came up to me and told me to log out of this account. Plus, so I was missing class once because I was on ATS and then like I don't want to get embarassed when I am looking at random writings about some crazy guy making a theory about aliens coming down to tell a President that they are going to fake a moon landing by doing it in a studio just for the heck of it so but I did, so I only look at ATS and BTS and PTS at home now! I hear there are certain sections in my school (I go to a private school so what may work for my school may be different than yours) happen to allow the access of youtube and other sites that are banned from the watchdog, but the school allows ATS, so I just use it in my chemistry's teacher.

Basically we don't even have someone monitor the computers in the library. People can even play games on their computer. It is the best school ever! I am completely serious!

When I was at school, when we were Studying A levels and AS levels, we had a computer room which only we could use, that was really handy for ATS use.

My schools filter never blocked ATS, but it did block some obscure websites, among them Lockheed Martin, for the fact that it has weapons information, Yes I'd like to buy some F22s please, through my school

Why would a school block ATS? ATS is very educational. I can understand if they want to block porn sites and such, but ATS?!!

If students are spending time on the school computers PLAYING at myspace and ATS then they aren't getting enough school work and/or homework to do.

Agreed! I've learned soo much from ATS!

My school's filter is absolutely ludicrous.

We were learning about simple machines and the computer filtered the word "screw", so we couldn't finish our assignment. Talk about frustrating!!

I forgot .. there was one assignment in which the teacher actually gave us a link to go to, and it was blocked due to the appearance of the word "fag" somewhere on the website.

They block "games" "personals" "forums" "shopping" and obviously any expletives.

Err, makes me mad. Obviously ATS wouldn't work there... but I'm hardly ever using the computers at school, so whatevs.

I feel lucky. I can access and post to ATS from school.

And more "WTF", I can access M-rated fanfiction... from school. And if I wanted, I could get on MySpace. But... YouTube is blocked. What?

My school has the silliest filters.
