You know the feeling when you see a super-fine movie and can't wait to tell everyone? Based on the 2003 box office, and all the Gigli screenings that
allowed, maybe you don't.
"People weren't running to their friends," says Paul Dergarabedian of the tracking firm Exhibitor Relations.
Box Office receipts were down for the first time in 12 years. About 1%. The problem doesn't seem to be the lack of quality movies, just that 2002 was
a HUGE year for movies.
