This is interesting, though I have to say the Pilot Ray Bowyer doesn't look at all credible to me...
What do you guys think?
Pilots and aircraft passengers have confirmed sightings of two large Unidentified Flying Objects off the coast of Guernsey.
The mysterious shapes were spotted earlier in the week and are described as long objects that measured up to a mile wide.
Radar screens picked up some activity in the area and pilot witnesses are now preparing reports for the relevant authorities. Aurigny Pilot Ray Bowyer
(pictured) is a professional pilot who has been flying for 20 years. He said: "In my years of experience I've never seen anything like this and
frankly I'd be perfectly happy not to ever again. It's a pretty chilling thing and from my first sighting of it - it appeared to be fairly small but
it must have been fairly huge." To see Mr Bowyer's diagram of the object, click to watch the full report, above. Email us here

Dang.... wish someone had a camera with em.....
My guess is Secret Military ops training...
BTW I spotted 2 F15's on a low fly over last night... Isn't it illegal for them to fly over populated areas after 10pm??
****Edit for Update****
This from BBC News...
A commercial airline pilot has reported seeing two unidentified flying objects in the sky near Guernsey.
The bright yellow flat disc shapes, estimated to be twice the size of a Boeing 737, were spotted on Monday, 12 to 15 miles north east of the island.
Captain Ray Bowyer was about to fly an Aurigny plane from Alderney to Southampton when he saw the objects through binoculars.
Mr Bowyer said he was "pretty shook-up" by the sighting.
"This is not something you see every day of the week - it was pretty scary," he said.
At first he thought it was the sun reflecting from greenhouses in Guernsey. He said the objects were bright like the sun, but did not hurt his eyes
when he looked at them.
The stationary objects were also observed by other aircraft and the passengers on the plane.

cool... Is Guernsey populated? If the objects was as big as Ray says some people on the island must have seen them too.
Dunno know about credibility... I couldn't see any telltale signs of a lie. But the thing about the passenger also saw it, hm, did the reporter used
plural? Cause to me it sounded like he referred to a single passenger. So why didn't he get interviewed?
Nice report though, would be interesting to follow if they keep digging in this sighting.

I wonder exactly how many eye witnesses there are.
Most of the searching around has come up a blank for witness reports other than the one given above.
I can't ascertain if this is a hoax or if this is real as there doesn't appear to be any real tangible evidence.
I will keep my ear to the ground and keep this thread updated.

satcom, I'm not sure, but I think you might be thinking of the Channel Islands of California. These Channel Islands are located just off the
coast of France, in the English Channel.
Looking at the dates, I wonder if there is a connection to this:

OK folks. Here is the original story from BBC:
news.bbc.co.uk...
I say flag the heck out of this thread. This is a big time sighting.
"This is the sort of sighting that is taken seriously and should be investigated thoroughly"

That's odd, you are in England right?
Because I heard, but didn't see jet fighters a few nights ago at about 10 or 11ish.
Weird.

A current spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, said that while it does monitor air space for any unusual foreign objects which might pose a
threat, they would not be carrying out an investigation in this instance.
In other words, they have already confirmed the sighting and know an investigation isnt going to give more...

What;s the population density of the area? If we could get one witness from who was on the ground or on the sea (anyone sailing out there or merchant
marine vessel crew) to confirm this it would be helpful.
As it stands I'll get this over NARCAP right now and let them do their "professional aviator" best with it.

Weird.
Yeah, I live in London. But the sighting was in North Lincolnshire.
Have been spending some time with the family in a place called Winterton. Quite close to S#horpe.
I was quite surprised myself to see the twin tail fins of the F15. I spotted them on a low fly over at around 20:00hrs but there were about nine other
low fly overs up to and past 22:00hrs.
They appeared to be heading in a general northerly direction.
Where about are you from Zanzibar?
All the best,

What evidence do you have that the pilot is not credible? What did he do or say that made you think that? I saw the clip. Here's a middle-aged pilot
in uniform telling what he saw. He has thousands of hours of flying experience. It's corraborated by radar. Some passengers saw it, too. The man has
stuck his neck out. he was interviewed on camera in uniform. His career is at stake. And ALREADY, with no evidence at all, people are saying he is
"not credible"?
That's incredulous itself! An experienced pilot saw it. Passengers saw it. radar saw it. Just what WOULD be credible?

BBC reporting it as well as Nick Pope commenting on it. I doubt he would be involved if the pilot seemed at all scetchy in the least bit. And not to
mention there are passengers who also saw it.

I just filed a FOIA request with the MOD.
Here is a copy of what I sent them via online FOIA form on their site.
"My FOIA request is for all documents and records having to do with this recent UFO sighting in the UK. Click on this link which is from BBC News
for destails:
news.bbc.co.uk...
Can you also please tell me why the MOD has decided NOT to investigate this major UFO sighting? I can not grasp my mind around the fact that you do
not find a UFO sighting as good as this one worth investigating when a pilot of more than 20 years along with some of his passengers sees a UFO almost
a mile wide.
Thank you."
