TERRORISM: EU-wide arrest warrant launched

The EU's controversial arrest warrant comes into force today, allowing Britain and other member states to secure the extradition of suspected terrorists or criminals far more easily than before.



One of the new laws passed as a result of 9/11. Makes it easier for countries in the EU to secure the extradiction of suspected terrorists and criminals.

"Britain, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Denmark are among the 15 current EU member states prepared to implement the law immediately, though most others, and the 10 incoming members, say they will be ready by May. "
