EXCLUSIVE: Cell phones intentionally jammed at Virginia Tech by authorities

This is unblelievable. Could this be factual? I just find it hard to believe not only that law enforcement would do this, but to do so during a high stress time when people(victims) may want to call for help. Just my opinion.

Cell phones went down on 7/7 too. The reason they gave was because the system was overwhelmed, although considering all the lies surrounding 7/7 i wouldn't put it past them that they intentionally jammed the lines.

This kind of technology is sort of scary. It's spooky that we can be "controlled". Not only that but the fact that people during crisis need to call loved ones either for help or to say goodbye (worst case scenario).

I just find this absolutely against the rights of the United States people.

It has become common place to jam cellphones during a major attack: the goal is to keep the perps from communicating with each other, and evading the police as they try to set up a perimeter.

Containing the crime comes first. People can call home once they are safe. If the police are close enough to jam service, they are also close enough to be trying to end the shooting.

Too bad it's an all-or-nothing strategy, but it at least it keeps the perps from gaining new intel during a crime.

Just wait until the perps themselves start jamming the phones, to make the victims more vulnerable . . .

Oh no

I know they didn't just throw in the AQ word did they?

Our law enforcement source confirmed that Cho Seung-Hui, who also sent a lengthy, profanity laced "manifesto" ranting against US and Western values - one that references al Qaeda and the attacks against the US - has been "connected" to at least one of the bomb threats called in to the University on the day of the carnage. [from OP source]

I read somewhere here on the day of the tragedy that sooner or later this guy would be tied to terrorism in some fashion. I guess this is one example.

Another is the use of IED, made famous in Iraq, now available in the US.

What happened to the old name...... homemade bomb? not catchy enough I guess.

Old name - letter bomb. new name IEPD improvised explosive postal device?

Using this tragedy for testing a cellphone jamming system? I got two words, the last word is " you". I am sure that you can figure out the first word, it now goes by the code name IPD....Irate Profanity Device...

Ok, first.
This is NOT a homeland security site.
It has no affiliation with the govt.

The Northeast Intelligence Network is comprised of a network of veteran, licensed professional investigators, analysts, military affairs specialists and researchers

From NIN

Second, where they got their info :

Our law enforcement source

From Story

Without credentials of the source, it could be some homeless guy.

Then, we have from one of our own ATS'ers :

Taken totally out of context from the story.

Personally, I don't really trust some of the info that site has posted.
