An Aeromexico flight to Los Angeles from Mexico City was canceled on New Year's Eve when officials citing security reasons said it would not be
allowed to land, Mexican officials said on Thursday.
Flight #940 was scheduled to take off this afternoon but was soon canceled after airport officials received a call from US Homeland Security
officials.
Airport and officials for the airline have no explanation as to why the flight was canceled.
"We didn't have any kind of problem, or bomb threat or any other type of event or emergency, this had to do with a decision that came from the
authorities in Washington," the spokeswoman said.
"They told us the problem was on their end and not here," said the spokeswoman, who asked not to be identified.
