Well, personally I think the kind of person that finds that sort of joke or humor to be funny in any way.. just doesn't get it, and perhaps shouldn't be president? Joke or serious, it proves he isn't the sort of person I want in the white house.

Well we all learn how to come to qualms with the horrors of this world, if you dont find it funny then fair enough. Dont vote for him, but frankly the chances of finding a "pure" person in the world is invisble.

I don't think it was a joke at all, I think it was a completely serious suggestion, and a fascinating little peek at the way the sociopaths in power think.

The fact that it caused enough of a stir to be the subject of a classified memo belies any suggestion that it was just a "joke" - and it should be no surprise. In the neocon worldview, the press exists to pump out propaganda for the State and it's wars. If the press is hostile to the leadership's aims, they are the "enemy" and can expect to get targeted like any other enemy. And they will be, as we've seen in Iraq already.

Bombing Al Jazeera would be entirely consistent with this administration's (and their supporters') attitude towards the press.
