02:34 PM CDT on Friday, April 20, 2007

By Michelle Homer / KHOU.com

A building at the Johnson Space Center was evacuated Friday afternoon after a report that a man with a weapon was inside.
"A person with a weapon was in Building 44," confirmed NASA spokesperson Kylie Clem.
NASA security responded and HPD was called.
More than 15 police cars could be seen outside the building from Air 11.
HPD is also sending SWAT.
At least one ambulance was also sent to the scene, but there have been no reports of injuries so far.
Building 44 houses the communications and engineering departments.
Clem couldn't say for certain how many employees worked in the building.
Several workers could be seen standing outside the building.

I hope it is an e.b.e. disguised as a human trying to prove its existence...

otherwise... I'd be afraid if joe smoe can walk into NASA and start shooting the place. How could someone get by its security system?

somewhat of a misnomer for the thread title

however, FOX News is reporting that the person had a gun

how they deduced "gun" from "possible weapon" is beyond me

he could have a broken beer bottle for all we know

latest i ve seen that the gunman is identified as a caucasion male of slim build with blue shirt and bluejeans. Nothing known yet obviously, but awful in the aftermath of the recent shootings. The location is odd - what is going on at NASA? Cant help but think its someone who works or studies there, could someone be trying to get access to information at the communcations building?

perhaps it's a disgruntled employee.

Disgruntled employee? Given recent history more likely a jilted member of an astronaut love triangle!

On point though...what is security like at this NASA location to let this occur?

I thought it had to be the crazy diaper wearing woman trying to kill someone for revenge.

I wonder what the gunman's motives are. If nobody got hurt, there must be some strange motive behind this. Like maybe he fired shots at nobody to get attention. Maybe he's trying to leak top secret information to the public and this is the only way he can do so - by getting the attention of the police.

It is an engineering sub-contractor, who apparently knew he was to be fired today. So it is a disgruntled employee. He has somehow got a gun in past security. Makes sense because he is the employee of an employee, a weak link somewhat under the radar in this respect. Why he is acting so violent otherwise is anyone s guess.

Top Secret comm. Building? Very strange. I wonder what they tinker around with in there. Reminds me of the infowars article about the VT shooting.

It is no secret the Pentagon has had a keen interest in electromagnetic weapons for some time. “Electronic mind-control research is not new,” CNN reported in 1985. “A scientific milestone in this area came in the 1960s when Dr. Jose Delgado demonstrated remote control over a charging bull.” Military affairs specialist Chuck DeCaro told CNN: a “scientist, who did not want his identity revealed … employed by the U.S. Government … has done secret RF weapons research. He believes that tests done with the [Soviet developed] Lida and similar machines prove that humans are susceptible to remote alterations of mood and awareness…. Certain kinds of weak electromagnetic signals work exactly like drugs, and so the promise is that anything you can do with drugs you could do with the right electromagnetic signal.” Dr. Robert Becker, a pioneer in the field of bioeffects of electromagnetism, added: “As far as I'm concerned, the potential that this has for producing a direct psychoactive effect upon the total American population is there, has never been disproven.”

How did someone bring a gun into NASA?
Doesn't that place have tight security?

Great... Whats next.

Someone shooting up the white house? What is this world coming to?

Can someone find out (if its even possible) why he is fired? If he is fired over something stupid, then I will understand his aggression... if he is fired because he f***ed-up real good... by all means, shoot him (if it necessary).

Looks like Cho became a role-model now. Buy a gun (or 2) and lots of ammo, walk into a crowd (preferably a crowd of colleagues) and start shooting them/at them...
