Chinese make first artificial snowfall

www.telegraph.co.uk

China claimed yesterday to have caused a snowfall for the first time as part of its increasingly ambitious attempts to control the weather.

Officials in the meteorological bureau in Tibet said they had used "rain-seeding" techniques to trigger a snowfall over the city of Nagqu last week.

"This proves it's possible for humans to change the weather on the world's highest plateau," said Yu Zhongshui. The bureau said it had produced just under half an inch of snow at a height of 15,000ft.

I wonder what type of reprocutions (if any) altering the weather would have down the line?

Perhaps it will offset weather patterns in neighbouring area's of the region?

So all those theories about that Katrina thing could be true, if somehow governments can manipulate the weather? I had heard the theories, but now it makes me wonder.

Gosh governments playing Supreme beings, what next/ I don't even want to know.

China seems to be really paving the way in breaking through using cutting edge technology and using theyre top scientific resources to do absolutely nothing of any real importance or usage.

changing weather isn't useless at all. It can hypotheticly make ideal weather for crops, which more crops, means more money for that country. Not to mention a useful weapon against other countries if it really came down to it. It's better then a nuke, in the sense that there is no radiation.
