You guys should check out this website. I'm not really sure how to explain the basis of the game, but I just read an article about it in San Francisco's free weekly - SFWeekly (you can probably find the article online)
Anyway, the gist is that you participate in a game in which we've reached peak oil. I haven't investigated the cite, rules, or content of the game in depth, but the outcome of the world, characters, etc... is completely up to the players (us) with the intent that the collective conscience may create a very similar scenario to that which may follow the end of oil.
It's very interactive and is the first in the ARG (Alternative Reality Gaming) Genre that's being used for civic awareness instead of marketing or entertainment.
