The Defense Energy Support Center, which buys fuel for the military throughout the world, will supervise the shipments and choose new contractors to replace Halliburton, Vice President Dick Cheney's former company.

You all are much more well-versed on this than I, does this news change anything?

The US Govt. FINALLY figured out how to transport their own fuel or at least will hire a contractor to do it.

Halliburton has wanted OUT of this part of the operation for months. It's not what they do and they have incurred loses of equipment and worse yet, have had employees lose their lives doing it.

PEACE...

Halliburton still will make billions on it's other Iraq contracts. This just makes it easier on them.

The transport of fuel represents at least one third of all military activity - fuel is transported for the ships that transport the fuel etc.

There are a plethora of new mechanisms which have been delivered for fuel generation over the past 15-20 years which will start to be put into place over the next 5 years - they will trickle down to us mere citizens after that.

Some of these were generated through robotics (needing power to operate - for example bio generation), weaponry (METHL), and various other synergies.

I would check to see if the contracts are being given to some Halliburton subsidiary/offshore-entity.

Blackwater is so politically toxic that they are subdividing into Paravant, XPG, etc. [ex-PG? formerly pregnant? post birth or post abortion?]

Halliburton now has its headquaters in Dubia where the accounting requirements are to make it as opaque and unavailable as possible.

Maybe it was when the salesperson said we will deliver for you the way we cement oil drilling platforms that made the buyer re-think?

Do you guys realize you're responding to a 7 year-old thread?

This spammer "rothmans" decided to hit about 50 old threads. The spam was removed, but now there are dozens of 6 and 7 year-old threads that have been bumped.

What I've been doing is going to page two and bumping ( in a TOC compliant way) threads from yesterday that have been put on page two by the spam.
