Think about it, if the golf ball got all of its velocity simply from being hit by a golf club it probably wouldn't travel tens of thousands of miles
per hour and it just stuck there instead of vaporize on impact.

yet? id be interested to see what they might look like from the side
Yes looking at the pyramids in Cydonia with this high resolution camera would be very interesting indeed..

hehe google thread reborn
Reading this thread and looking at these pictures reminds me of that Google Earth thread. Kinda like clutching at straws, looking for Evidence that
doesn't exist or is impossible to proove...

low resolution or not, a face is still a face.
[edit on 16-4-2007 by admriker444]
Actually you're wrong. A face is not a face either in low resolution or high. You're looking at a face created by tricks of light and shadown and
low resolution artifacts. If you cannot admit to yourself that we have advanced in imaging technology then you need to probably do some research on
technology because you have issues my friend.

Nope, never saw those before I will check the images and see if there is anything to it, but that video sure distorts the "face"
Makes a lot of absolute statements too...
The water is interesting There is a lot more info on it> I will link later

The Nephilim (giants) hit a sandtrap (Mars) while they hoped for a hole in one (the eye of Jupiter).
That made me laugh, good one!
Landing a few Rovers near the "face" and near the "Pyramids" to scout around and take pictures sure would be great. Very interested in seeing what
they could discover being so close, artifacts, writings, carvings, evidence of "non-natural" formations? To bad NASA thinks drilling circles into
"Blueberry's" half way on the other side is more fun. Or did they try that already and the Rovers were just stepped on by Transformer's and they
aren't saying anything (as usual)?
The oval ring of "markers" sure is a new one to me, hope this gets more attention from ATS members.
I can't help but always notice "straight" formations on the outer edges of the "face" each time I see it. Like in the upper north/western area
(assuming the face when looked at directly has it's top at a slanted north) catches my eye every time no matter what the resolution is. Maybe its
just me but a lot of the edges around the "island/face" seem a bit to straight to be naturally made by erosion or other means.
Does anyone have a scale of how long and wide the "face" is, like in miles?
As far as it being a "grey" upside down, I would have to wonder why, (though it does look like a grey), a face would be made upside down being it
wouldn't look like a very good design to "observers/visitors" from a higher altitude who gazed down upon it when arriving/leaving in that region of
Mars, unless "Martians" didn't care about "style".

Using this image from HiRISE and the
ExpressView browser plug-in, these are, more or less, its measurements,
using a 25cm per pixel scale.

WHO FIRST SAID IT WAS A FACE?
Many times in these threads I have heard people say "Why bother looking? Its just another illusion.."
So I thought I would find out who first started this "Martian Face" story..
Well guess what...
IT WAS NASA
May 24, 2001 -- Twenty five years ago something funny happened around Mars. NASA's Viking 1 spacecraft was circling the planet, snapping
photos of possible landing sites for its sister ship Viking 2, when it spotted the shadowy likeness of a human face. An enormous head nearly two miles
from end to end seemed to be staring back at the cameras from a region of the Red Planet called Cydonia.
There must have been a degree of surprise among mission controllers back at the Jet Propulsion Lab when the face appeared on their monitors. But the
sensation was short lived. Scientists figured it was just another Martian mesa, common enough around Cydonia, only this one had unusual shadows that
made it look like an Egyptian Pharaoh.
A few days later NASA unveiled the image for all to see. The caption noted a "huge rock formation ... which resembles a human head ... formed by
shadows giving the illusion of eyes, nose and mouth." The authors reasoned it would be a good way to engage the public and attract attention to
Mars.
It certainly did!
The "Face on Mars" has since become a pop icon. It has starred in a Hollywood film, appeared in books, magazines, radio talk shows -- even haunted
grocery store checkout lines for 25 years! Some people think the Face is bona fide evidence of life on Mars -- evidence that NASA would rather hide,
say conspiracy theorists. Meanwhile, defenders of the NASA budget wish there was an ancient civilization on Mars.
SOURCE

So
NASA scientists spotted the face...
NASA scientists call it an "Egyptian Pharoah"
NASA scientists can't wait to show the public...
Why? BECAUSE ITS GOOD FOR BUSINESS
NASA scientists get PAID to do this.
We here at ATS do it for FREE
but its still GOOD FOR BUSINESS
And if its good enough for NASA Scientists, its good enough for me. And NASA scientists assign cute or sugestive names to anomalies the same as we
do..
So if you have any more comments about why bother? Tell it to the NASA Scientists

away by time.
So what convinced yo? Do you have documents that you can share?
And why would all traces have been worn away by time? That is actually a pretty dumb statement considering the thousands of year old works of past
civilizations on Earth that we are still finding buried beneath desert sands
And that section of the "face" did collapse. Anyone with even rudimentary geological knowledge can see that... Just look back a few posts to the
Malin picture that I posted with the "Island" Just because it collapsed does not mean it was a construct, but it did collapse
okay snip the things we find under desert sands are preserved because the weather can't get to them. now i think that ur statement is a pretty
dumb statement. so what convinced you? dude snip if there was a civilization on that planet it was hundereds and thousands of years ago that
stuff would be gone nothing lasts forever not even this planet. everything turns to dust. it's just a matter of time. whatever even if it did colapse
like u said it's not a construct so u pretty much said it was then said it wasn't. way to contradict urself. wow rudimentray geometrical knowledge
do u even know what that means? maybe u can use that snip on somethin on earth when u can actually go see it. ur talkin about a planet millions
of miles away that no one from this planet has ever been on so how snip does ur rudimentary geometrical knowledge apply here. like i said it
was just my opinion i wish it was proof but i wasn't convinced it wasn't fact it was my opinion so go snip to some photos of mars or
somethin.
