Chances are that if they did swear on the Bible that they walked on the moon, the guy would ask them how they can lie after swearing on the Bible

- If the astronauts swore on the bible, then the 'some guy' would just turn around and blast them for lieing while placing their hand on the bible.
- The astronauts probably figured the 'some guy' was a kook. They'd probably be right.
- The astronauts are celebrities and have to be careful - remember Rebecca Shaeffer (of My Sister Sam)??
- NASA handles all public relations. These Astronauts are part of an organization and they follow those rules. Even retired astronauts.
- MANY people will not 'swear on the bible'. Either they don't believe in the bible OR they believe in it and won't swear to God, or swear on the bible, because - the BIBLE ITSELF says not to do that.
This - refusal to swear on the bible - is nothing.

If that is the case then why must one swear on a bible before tesifying in any US court of law?
Jam 5:12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
