Ok boys and Girls, here we go!

If and when the shooting moves across the border, do we join in?

And if so, on what side???

Our Nato allies, the Turks, our provisional Iraqi government, the PUK ?

All may be fighting each other real soon!

There have been cross border ops in the past.
The situation has now changed.
The Kurds have oil money, in my opinion.
The Kurds also have armor, and have had armor for several years,
long enough to prepare a tough defensive position.
I wonder if they have hired an Israeli with experience in the Golan"retreat'?
Going after prepositioned and dug in tanks in a mountain setting can get ugly.

Turkey:
MILITARY CHIEF ASKS FOR GO-AHEAD FOR STRIKES IN NORTHERN IRAQ

Ankara, 12 April (AKI) - Turkey's army chief on Thursday called on the country's government to approve military strikes against Kurdish separatists based in northern Iraq. General Yasar Buyukanit also said that the military had launched several "large scale" offensives against rebels in Turkey's predominantly Kurdish southeast. The powerful military chief's remarks follow Ankara's renewed demand on Monday for US and Iraqi officials to crack down on militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Turkish army pushes for military operation into Iraq

ANKARA - Turkey's army chief pushed for a military incursion into northern Iraq on Thursday to crack down on Turkish Kurd rebels he said had sought refuge there.
"If you ask me whether a cross-border operation is needed, yes it is needed. It would be useful," chief of general staff, General Yasar Buyukanit, told a rare press conference.

There are a lot of guns, oil, ancient feuds, and chaos in this area.

And now springtime is coming to the MidEast.

The request to cross the border is troubling, though I have expected the Turks to do something about getting hit with rockets from across an ink line on paper.
