I don't think he is speaking for all the masons, I think however that he was speaking what he belived about religions and masonary is in his own perception.
If pike belifes that all religions come from there and that "All Masonic associations owe to it their Secrets and their Symbols " then I had to ask.

That is what I wanted to say, and I wanted to ask why would a top mason figure, because pike was a big figure, a 33 degree mason would think in such a maner, what would make him beilive what he stated.

I read your two quotes, and didn't see anything "evil" in the least. I am very aware of that, although ive been told that when a mason of another religion joins, instead of a bible they use the koran, or i-ching, or whatever. personally, i dont have a particular book i subscribe to, so the bible was fine with me. i can get down with the bible. plus, as far as i know all the catechisms are within the context of the bible, so memorizing a different one would be a bit akward for me, and i imagine blasphemous for others.

i know lots of Bros that wont join the SR because of the rumors regarding albert pike and lucifer, and ive been too polite to mention the rumors of knights templar and "unchristian" rituals, therefore having the same rumor within YR. I do think it would prove to be an enlightening conversation though.

If that's what you've gathered then you haven't been paying attention. Freemasonry has a membership criterion of belief in a Supreme Being. Since one either believes in that or one doesn't, membership is pretty clear cut. It's not got anything to do with tolerance, age or choice of attire.
