I had a good think about the subject today and I came to a conclusion. Basically, it was what you said right there.
A terrible thought, but children go missing more than anyone would like, if a body is found that cannot be identified visually, fingerprints are a
quick and efficient way of identifying a body.
Also, I'm a bit of CSI addict and however far from reality it can be at times, many of their cases require a fingerprint to be identified. If the
nations prints are on record it makes solving crimes quicker and could potentially save lives.
Basically, it isn't a way of taking away your freedom at all, if you haven't committed a crime, then it shouldn't be a problem.
