In nearly two hundred years in the making, we are finally going to catalogue every species on this earth, that will include all known organisms from plants and animals to bacteria and viruses.

Its amazing how much we dont know about earth, our planet.
This reminds me of that doomsday collection of all types of seeds etc, cant remember what country was doing that.

The listing does not include fossil species from the past.

Thomas M. Orrell, a biologist at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, said: "Many are surprised that, despite over two centuries of work by biologists and the current worldwide interest in biodiversity, there is presently no comprehensive catalogue of all known species of organisms on Earth."
