The Gryphon

Does anyone think there is any realism to the Gryphon?

If there were gryphons I'd like one as a pet.
I could fly to school every morning on it.

Well, there's the well known Gryphon's Guild. But then again, I do have a feeling it's not maintained by gryphon's, just sad losers like myself.

Saw one the other day,had a dark elf riding on his back,being chased by a land elf on an Unicorn.
Sorry...I couldn't resist.

No I think somethings are just myths. I can see where soemthings,like dragons can be believed in the far distant past. Someone saw a shooting star, then stumbled over dinosaur fossils and went oh no there are Dragons.
Or the Kracken,which could be loosely based on giant squid. But I don't think anywhere in the history of life there has ever been a flying lion. Or anything close to that.
