Hey, at least those kids still had a chance. Someone had to clean up the mess (again!). Others, are just a lost cause. If anyone else still has enough respect left to continue engaging you in this pointless thread, they are welcome to you. I'm not wasting any more time here.

I have been eying this thread for some time now. Xtal you are right about one thing. This is just another opportunity to trash a country that does not meet "U.S.of A." standards. Both Canada and Mexico. Some people here think that if the NAU goes into effect, it will go into effect over night. That is impossible. If it happens it will be gradual. Like someone mentioned. The NAU is a good idea if we did not have corrupt leaders, but we do, so I say no. One thing,
I'm of Mexican descent but I don't consider my self Mexican nor American, I'm just a human. But the disrespect, and ignorance displayed here in this thread and others all over ATS have really made me mad because people talk about Mexicans as if they are going to just take over, or there is a big plan to take over the U.S. They talk about Mexicans as if they are just some insect, "swarming", waiting for the U.S. to open the doors so they can all become Americans.
It seems people here have an idea that Mexican people are ignorant, and they all are "stereotypical" immigrants. That is flawed! You think everyone in Mexico wants to come to the U.S. of A.? Did you know that in Mexico there are people and groups that highly oppose these things such as NAFTA and NAU. Have you ever heard of the EZLN? They fight for a cause. They fight for their rights as humans to make a living. These things destroy their lives and prevent them from advancing their life, and the quality of their life. They don't want to be like you, they don't want to associate with you, they don't want to live any where near you! There are very smart people living in Mexico, with bigger balls to face the corruption that exists in the country. You think that, it is the people's fault that Mexico is the way it is. No, it is the corrupt government that works together with the corrupt government of the U.S.of A. Last I heard, in order for the U.S.of A. to meet the demand it has for coc aine, and heroin, they have to find a better way, and more efficient way to transport that cargo. Well, well let us see who is in the middle of this. Mexico. That is why the government is corrupt, that is why the quality of life in rural areas of Mexico has not improved, but deteriorated. This is why the Mexican government is corrupt. The U.S.of A. needs a secure door to bring all the drugs, that the citizens of the U.S.of A. demand. Basic, since the demand exists, the supply will meet or exceed this demand. And who pockets all these black market funds? Every day you hear, well I don't know about you, of the murders/executions of politicians and journalists being gunned down because they want to change things, they want the truth, they want what is fair for the people! They themselves don't want to be like you! I don't hear that happening anywhere in the U.S. of A. Plain and simple, understand that your cheap shots towards the Mexican people are not ignored, and ignorant at it's best.

I've been South of the border many times, I know Mexico is a pathetic and corrupt wreck of a country, and I don't even wonder why the Mexicans come pouring into the USA illegally. But I sure as hell don't like it, because our hosting some 11 million illegals is screwing things up for everyone, increasing our crime problem, draining our healthcare, education and other resources for a large group of people who pay no income tax. In other words, Mexican illegals are theives living off of the American taxpayer, and sending our money out of the country.

I've been North of the border, as well, and have found some of the most economically depressed areas I've ever seen in Canada. Try 80% unemployment in some areas, people selling everything they own just to survive, and plenty of whining and bellyaching about the way in which Canadian socialism is increasingly robbing the Canadian people of their liberties. I've been there, I've talked to people there, and I believe they're a hell of a lot worse off than we are in America.

Yet these Canadian socialists boast that their social initiatives are head and shoulders above the USA. That's just plain propaganda and arrogant denial of what is happening in Canada. Kind of telling that the Canadian PhD earlier was penning his anti-American sentiments from a comfortable workstation in Boston, Mass.

Oh, oh, Canada is so much better than the USA, I'm thinking of moving back home!!

Please don't let us detain you.

I did see some post that I felt were inappropriate. I didn't mean for posters to get heated. We are all technically Americans because we all live in the Americas. I wanted a chance to get everyones opinion because I am a white person who lives in Michigan and would like to see how others thought. I saw a lot of childish bickering about who's country is better which leads me to the conclusion that we are not ready to be united. Both Mexico, USA, and Canada have a lot to offer each other. Even without a Union, we should be helping and looking out for each other. Its the governments and religions keeping humans segregated. Maybe one day there will be no countries or borders, but hey I'm a dreamer.

So, I see you embrace your own ignorance too. Typical.

The true ignorance in this case is on the part of the illegal advocates, those who contend that America needs illegals more than we need our own laws. Pardon, chum, but that's another anti-American Big Lie coming straight out of the socialist mouthpieces in America.

No. We don't need illegals. We in the USA will be healthier, wealthier and safer when the flow of illegals is stopped and ultimately reversed. I don't care what other argument you can mount — if you're going to ignore the illegal nature of their entry, then the rest of your case is pure anti-American nonsense.

Like I said run for office, change the system, chum. Get off ATS and become proactive instead of just making generalizations, and complaining about things. When should we expect you to announce your candidacy?

Well idont believe there should be a north american union. I just feel like it would be the beginning of something worse to come. I feel like its easy for Europe to join b/c they have they have so many small countries. But is Canada, Us, and Mexico joined, all hell would break loose. plus i dont really see the purpose/ nor do i think the benifits will outweigh they consequences

US- I think joining Mexico and Canada is a terrible idea, it may call for a police state and martial law. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut on saying anything else on this matter.

So... no no no.

Cdn: No I'm really not interested in any North American union at the present time. Work needs to be done on world peace that at the moment through foreign gov actions is scaring the hell out of common peaceful people in Canada, I feel.

Train more Soldiers, make more bombs and invade Countries 'cause one twice elected crazyman lies to his people and put's North America in jeopardy all by himself. No thanks. I'd rather take my chances with 100% Canadian nutball Elected Leaders than shared leadership with a crazyman. Green earth and a peaceful place for future generations is becoming less & less realistic.
